We visited the Fitzwilliam for crafternoon tea to celebrate our anniversary and while the staff were really lovely and attentive, the experience was disappointing overall. The food was very bland and the drinks were two beers we were looking forward to but were served from cans, not pints, which felt underwhelming for the price. Despite mentioning it was a special occasion, nothing was done to mark it. The atmosphere in the restaurant was quiet and a bit awkward, with no real ambiance. For £70, it just didn’t feel worth it.

Fantastic service, good quality food and lovely presentation. As the afternoon tea included a glass of prosecco we felt it was good value for money. Food included a small cup of soup, sandwiches, scones, cakes and patisserie. All food provided was tasty. We had an issue with the scones which were rock hard and they were replaced in an instant. Would not hesitate to recommend, all the staff we dealt with were charming and efficient.

The food was delicious, being a bit differnt to other afternoon teas we have had. The service was friendly and efficient, It was served in an area just off the main door so there was a lot of passing people, which seemed a bit strange. I, personally, would have preferred to be sat in a restaurant at a high table. I am hearing impaired and found it difficult to have a conversation with my husband as he was sat quite a distant from me.

I really felt that the staff wanted us to enjoy the experience. I contacted them in advance regarding the circumstances of one of my guests and they did all they could to ensure we had a good time. The table setting was appealing, the food was delicious and well presented. I thought it was great value as there was more than we could eat and I hadn’t realised a glass of Prosecco was included! I would certainly recommend this as a treat day out.
