We were there for a very early dinner--5:15--and practically were the only diners, so I cannot comment on the noise level. But it is a beautiful modern-looking restaurant. Our table was comfortable. The waiter explained the menu to use--what was usually shared and what were generally single entrees. We ordered 3 sharable small plates, the buttermilk rolls, the whitefish on what seemed like triangular potato pancakes, and the duck. All were delicious and enough for the two of us to share. We split a cheeseburger and had more than enough to eat. I'd be interested in returning at a more usual dinner hour to see how it compared to our experience. And the "A" cocktail I had was delicious.

Criminally underrated spot, I guess because it’s not in a trendy neighborhood for food, but this place is great. The food and drinks are very nearly on par with someplace like The Dabney but at 30-50% of the cost. Loved it, can’t wait to go again.

Thank you so much! Glad you loved it and an honor to be compared to the Dabney!

Live nearby and walk past this restaurant all the time. Decided to give it a try. Beautiful restaurant with great service and excellent food. Started with a delicious beet salad shared by 3 of us and the gnocchi with lemon and creama—very tasty but light, and cheeseburgers with thick cut real potato fries on the side . Finished the meal with a delectable chocolate sorbet that had crisps as well as a chocolate sauce that was especially good. Nice bar and a beautiful outdoor seating area that will be our next stop when we return.

First time dining at a.kitchen and it was a wonderful experience. We sat on the terrace, which offered a lovely atmosphere for the evening. The food was both original and delicious—each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. A special shoutout to our waiter, Sebastian, who was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. His service really elevated the entire experience.

One of DC’s best restaurants. The bar program is top notch and the food quality is even better. We had brunch and everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server/bartender was so nice. We sat outside under the covered portion of the patio. To start we had the Brace For Impact and Easy A. For food we had the Biscuits and Gravy, Boursin Omelette, Steelhead Trout Lox and the Cornmeal pancake. We finished it all. Also the espresso martini was outstanding.
