   Always a good time here. I wish drinks could come out a little faster but other than that it’s always good here.

   I’ve eaten here many times in the past. However, my recent experience was very disappointing. Despite having a reservation, they would not move us to another table away from the front door. There were numerous open tables but were told they were reserved for “others.” They remained open much of our dinner. The music they played was so loud that we could hardly hear each other speak. The food really was not good. The cauliflower appetizer, which is usually the highlight, lacked flavor. The Caprese BLT was bland with soggy ciabatta bread and my side salad was saturated in dressing. Couldn’t even enjoy it. The only positives….nice server and yummy brownie. We won’t be back again.

   Our server was really nice Food was good They didn’t ask for the reservation nor did they honor the special request That being said would definitely go again because our server was very friendly and food was good Ambience was shocking, did not expect it to be that nice inside

   First time I’ve ever been here where it was less than half full. It can get so loud inside when it’s busy, but this was perfect around noon on Sunday. Fantastic pizza, as usual. Friendly service. Will definitely be back!

   Nice ambiance. Good food. Very good beer! Big issues were the person playing a guitar and singing was excellent, yet it was so loud our table could not hear each other. also, we wanted to get another chair and the host said no as another table needed the chair...We left before anyone ever came to that table.

   I've been to the Alvarado in Monterey many times over the years and I thought it would be a similar experience, but it was completely different. Everyone was really nice and the food was okay. They were a bit short on staff considering it was a Saturday night. We enjoyed ourselves because the appetizers were really good but the entrees did take a bit to reach us. Overall, it was a different experience but they have the same great beers as the other locations.

   The ambiance is always a favorite. They did a great job leaning into the art deco styling of the building. I tried a signature cocktail, the Desert Rose. I think it could have been good if the bartender wasn't so heavy handed with the chamoy. The waitress could tell I wasn't enjoying it and offered to get me something different, so I ordered their signature Mai Tai. It was the smallest Mai Tai I've ever seen, and the flavor was lacking your typical mai tai blend, but it was passable. I thought about ordering wine instead, but the wines by the glass are very limited. Maybe stick with beer... they are great at that. I ordered the blackberry burrata salad for my lunch. It was phenomenal. Easily one of the best salads I have ever had. The perfect balance of all ingredients. I enjoyed every bite. In summary... cool vibe, overpriced and underwhelming cocktails, decent service, and phenomenal food.

    We all enjoyed our salads, smash burgers, and apps. The noise level was low so we could have conversations and the wait staff were attentive.
