Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta is a traditional Neapolitan trattoria centered around an open kitchen featuring a 6,000 pound wood-burning brick oven imported from Italy. The 170 seat dining room also has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. Just launched, a new menu which includes many fresh pastas, salads, appetizers and desserts, including beautiful imported gelato. Enjoy a full bar with local beer on tap, exclusive wine list and specialty cocktails in beautiful Downtown Atlanta.

We made a reservation for our 4 year anniversary, yet we were met with unknowledgeable service. We asked about appetizers, and the waiter couldn’t give any info other than “it comes with an assortment of cheeses”, and had we have known the tiny charcuterie board would have been more than both of our entrees in price, we would have refused. The ambience is there, yet the table arrangements didn’t quite match the “fine dining” atmosphere. Each table is arranged with white paper on top, giving the impression you’re attending a seafood boil. The menus were sticky, and left grease spots all over the “seafood boil” paper. Our entrees came after ~30+ min, but that’s to be expected on a busy Saturday night. However, what’s not expected was the pink chicken i was served, and the stale noodles my wife was served. Wine, appetizers, and entrees ended up being over $100, and sadly we were not met with an experience that matched such a price. We will not be back.

We enjoyed the food and service a year ago while attending Cheersport 2024. This year, we had a completely different experience. The food was underwhelming, and the service was incredibly slow. We had to wait too long for silverware, which made the experience frustrating as our food was getting cold. My wife and I both had pizza which turned soggy while waiting for silverware. I had to remind our waitress that I was still waiting on my salad which I requested to come before my entree....she blamed this on a computer issue! My daughter had a cheese pizza which was basically unmelted cheese and an inedible crust due to the amount of char from their ovens which obviously aren't being brushed frequently. Our son is celiac so he had their GF pasta with marinara and it was just okay. Overall, not worth the visit this time around. We will be dining elsewhere next year. We did not bring this to anyone's attention as we weren't seeking new food or compensation and we could also see that management was busy on their phone while in the dining room so they would have probably brushed us off as just another table. The ambiance and music is pleasant but they are lacking where it matters the most, the customer experience.

Maybe because it was Valentine’s Day and that it was busy the overall service wasn’t the best. Made reservations still had to wait 20 minutes to get our table. Got our food didn’t receive any utensils or napkins. Calamari was falling apart. The waiters were super nice however and (the bruschetta was the highlight, really good.) Maybe I’ll try again on a not so busy day.

Food came at same time as appetizers and it took a while to be seated even with a reservation when every table was empty but the food was delicious and our waiter was very nice

Very average pizza. Too much cheese and sauce and very floppy. Couldn’t pick it up to eat it.

We were a little early for our reservation but we waited a little bit to be greeted when we first arrived. I noticed that was a consistent theme with long lines at the hostess station throughout the night as the “hostess” seemed to be a bit inattentive, often busying herself with other things while people waited to be greeted and seated. Very odd.

We were recommended this restaurant to try when we came to Market. Sadly, it was not good. I LOVE Italian food. This missed the mark. The coke I ordered was flat. Zero bubbles. The ciabatta tostada was actually the star of the meal! Pretty good! We ordered lobster ravioli at 5:45 and they said they had just served their last one. At 5:45 PM? How? There were only 4 tables seated. We both ordered shrimp Alfredo. Not good. I’ve never had Alfredo so watery and not flavorful. I tried to doctorate it up with extra parm on the table, but it was just bad. The super tiny shrimp were not good. As someone who loves pasta, this was forgettable. The server; however, was great!

Had awful service. Our server was old, slow, and had some kind of vocal issues and we could barely hear her. The food was just decent, really not as good as the menu looks.
