Amami Food Bar is the sister restaurant of Amami Restaurant in Mellieha, with a twist. Further extending our admiration towards Asian cuisine.

AMAMI WAS INSPIRED BY THE GODDESS OF CREATION, AMAMIKJU. THE AMAMI ISLANDS, NAMED AFTER THIS GODDESS, ARE LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF KYUSHU WHICH IS THE THIRD-LARGEST ISLAND OF JAPAN’S FIVE MAIN ISLANDS.

I visited Amami only because I had a brilliant experience at Amami in Mellieha however yesterday's experience was not the same and it's a pity. Red wine by the glass was sold out. There was only 1 bottle of wine available - no options available. The last food order was at 9pm when on FB the food bar closes at 10pm, an hour after the kitchen closes. The food wasn't very fresh. I'm not one to complain and I don't want anything in return - I'm just disappointed because I had a very good impression of the place, bearing the same name, based on previous experience.

Without a doubt the best restaurant we have visited in Malta, the service is top notch and the food is fresh and delicious. The staff is welcoming and at the same time the price is quite reasonable. Will definitely come again next year.

The aesthetic was simply beautiful and elegant, reflective of the culture of Japan. The server was very polite, friendly and outgoing. The food was exquisite and priced well. A definite top-notch experience!

Made an online reservation on the website and when I arrived, person in charge told me that the restaurant closes at 9pm and only takes orders till 8:45pm. He said that there was a mistake on the website and could only offer us a takeaway order and no place to sit. Disgrace. Never going again.
