Food timing was poor. Mains came out at random times, one main was forgotten all together and the entre came out after the mains. This resulting in people having finished their meals before others had even started.

Our booking was cancelled at the last minute without notice. Turned up to find the place closed. In a town and at a time when it would be difficult to find an alternative place for dinner, this was not appreciated, especially with no explanation or apology. Not likely to try again.

The wait for our meals to be served was 75min. It was terrible. Under staffed. Took too many bookings for what they could cope with and then said that an hour was ‘usual’.

The online menu was not the menu on offer when I arrived. I booked in for a meal, not a bar snack. A complete waste of an evening out.

We dined at the American Hotel on Monday evening. If you are looking for an upmarket pub meal, it is a wonderful place to dine. We are more the traditional pub meal, so were a bit disappointed. The meal in itself was beautiful, just not what we expected. The ambience was lovely, the staff were engaging, especially the bartender. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening.

Good pub food in great atmosphere with live and local music. Lots of shade and fans on a 36 degree day so wasn’t too uncomfortable. Lots of beers on tap. A great spot to visit in Echuca.
