A P O S T O is a Des Moines restaurant located in a Century Old Victorian Mansion a few blocks west of Downtown in the Historic Sherman Hill Neighborhood District. Enjoyed my birthday on the porch during restaurant week. The menu offering was delicious. One of my favorite restaurants!

We visited Aposto during Restaurant Week and had a lovely 3 course dinner. We both had the the short rib for the first course- absolutely tender and delicious! For the second course, one ordered the salmon and the other ordered the pasta dish. We shared both and found both to be absolutely delicious! Of special note was the tomato and bread salad that came with the salmon. I have always hesitated to order a “bread salad” but I will order it anytime I have the chance going forward- delicious! We both had the chocolate peanut butter torte for dessert and were not disappointed! A great chocolate fix to end a great meal. Aposto is a wonderful place for a quiet dinner for two. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the background music is just right, and the wine and food never disappoints.

The staff and drinks were amazing! However, the chicken, not so much. My friend and I each ordered the chicken breast, and it was so dry. It was almost hard to swallow. Others at the table had the lamb and loved it. I still will be back!!! Amazing service!!!

Everything was amazing. My only small complaint is that my dish had a pretty small serving so as it was absolutely delicious it wasn’t the most filling. The chocolate torte is out of this world and our server was very knowledgeable and helpful!

We had a fabulous meal! Our server (Shannon) was amazing, the atmosphere was superb, the old house it is in just gives it so much character. We had so much good food. The lamb took first place for the best. If you are in Des Moines you NEED to eat here.

A beautiful evening in a beautiful setting out on the porch. Service prompt and attentive. And the food is perfectly prepared. It will linger in memory for years.

Cute and fabulous place to celebrate a special occasion. I was celebrating my green card holder and I had the bone marrow. I will add pictures. The food was amazing. The weather and the service was perfect.
