This restaurant is located in a charming inn with a pleasant view and convenient proximity to Bear Mountain State Park and West Point. I had visitors from overseas, and we were initially impressed by the warm reception and the inviting ambiance of the restaurant. Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. We were in a bit of a rush, so we skipped appetizers and ordered our main courses right away. It took 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. I asked the server three times for an update, and each time he simply said, "It’s coming soon." My wife, who is diabetic, experienced a drop in blood sugar, and we requested a glass of lemonade for an emergency sugar boost. Even that took five minutes to arrive, despite our clearly stating it was urgent. There were many staff members present, but they appeared to lack proper training and were not attentive to the tables. The manager was apologetic and said she would take care of us if we returned. However, after experiencing such poor service and a general lack of professionalism from the staff—including our server—we’re unsure if we would ever go back.

A pretty dining room with a nice view of the Hudson. Last night was not a good night. There were some issues involving the kitchen. We were seated at 7:30 and did not receive our entrees until after 9. If we hadn’t asked, we would not have received an explanation. The wait staff were courteous but the wait without explanation was unacceptable. For the most part the meals were good but not great. In the end we were comped a round of drinks and dessert. I will give Apropos one more chance before Xing it off my list.

Amazing atmosphere with great service and delicious food. My husband felt the servings were too small especially the tuna tartar. On the other hand, I was unable to finish my pork entree. All delcious though and save room for dessert!

It's a lovely restaurant and a beautiful setting. Service is great. We ordered the carrot tomato soup which was delicious. My husband ordered duck - superb. I ordered the Vegetarian Paella- disappointing. Very small portion of rice with steamed carrots and broccoli - some peppers cooked with the bland saffron rice, and a salsa type sauce to spice things up. Truly meh - felt like a weight watchers entree. Almond cake for dessert - yum.
