Our go to special occasion restaurant. Exceptional service. Menu selection is diverse. Cocktail and wine list provide seasonal cocktails and good selection of wine. Atmosphere is festive. Our food selections were beautifully presented and well prepared. We chose the duck l’orange, duck confit, mushroom risotto, steak frites and the swordfish special. Delicious.

This restaurant has lost its charm. Service is subpar…no one takes your coat on checking in, the wait person told us that they were busy today and would need to keep us paced. It was a holiday dinner, and we were sharing gifts and hadn’t ordered. The food quality has also become less reliable.

Service was very slow: one hour from our arrival to entrée arrival. We arrived a little early for our 7:30 PM reservation, left shortly after 9 PM, after an hour and a half, having been unable to obtain dessert. Noise level was annoying. Food was good. This put a damper on what was intended as a celebratory night out.

Usually I have a good experience at Aquitaine but for the 2nd time in several weeks my salmon was overdone even though I requested that it be cooked medium rare.

The quality of food is down over time. Duck risotto was watery, not a trace of truffles as the menu suggests (perigord truffle butter), escargots were swimming in inordinate amount of butter, very scarce on parsley and pernaud, served without bread, I had to ask for it a few times until I got it. So I used to like Aquitaine, but it’s become a shadow of its former self.

Chaotic and sloppy evening. The rice in my risotto had the texture of Uncle Ben's. The service was quite poor. Beautiful restaurant.

Duck risotto truly excellent but chicken with polenta barely edible. Hope they keep risotto as a staple!

The perfect Chestnut Hill dining experience. Walking in diners are warmly greeted. Excellent dining area, superb cocktails, amazing food. It’s so nice dining out at a location so well managed where everyone from servers, bartenders and buss people are enjoying what they do.

We used to dine here a lot and then sort of forgot about it. Returning last night, we found the food was still delicious and just what you would expect for bistro fare. My special was a veal cutlet perfectly prepared, with a unique gorganzola sauce. The service was excellent. If you go on a cold night, I suggest asking for the back area, as it can blow chilly when the door opens.

Aquitaine in Chestnut Hill is managed by an extremely capable, kind young lady who is very gracious to her guests. Alexa simply can’t be beat as a restaurant manager, and it shows, as the staff has the utmost respect for her. In addition, Renee keeps the floor moving and her guests happy with her outstanding service, personality and humor. These two women are truly important assets to the success of the restaurant!!!!
