With over 40 years of experience, Ashoka Tandoori Restaurant has a long reputation of serving Brighton locals authentic and reliable Indian cuisine. Located on Church Road in Hove, this charming institution has been around since 1987 and till this day continues to churn out a range of flavoursome curries, balti dishes, biriyani, vegetarian crowd pleasers and more. As Ashoka’s name suggests, the house specialities are the tandoori dishes cooked in the traditional clay oven with charcoal fire. The food is aromatic, smokey and rustic, which is quite the irresistible combo if you ask us. Guests can keep it classic and go for tandoori chicken or chicken tikka, but other tandoor recommendations include the lamb shank, king prawn jalfrezi and duck chilli masala.
