Chef Fredrik Berselius brings his love of nature to his urban surroundings through food at Brooklyn's only two Michelin-starred restaurant. With an emphasis on ingredients from the Northeastern region and influenced by his Scandinavian homeland, Aska, Swedish for "ashes," offers a distinctive dining experience through a procession of courses prepared from an open kitchen and served to guests of only ten tables each night.

Amazing place . Besides the adventure that we had regarding the 12 course fun experience, service was in the same level as the food. Totally recommend. I would also say , go with the wine pairing. They know how to combine all perfectly . Thank you ASKA !!!

Aska delivers an extraordinary culinary journey in a beautifully restored 1860s Williamsburg warehouse. Chef Fredrik Berselius masterfully blends Scandinavian traditions with local Northeast ingredients in a refined 12-14 course tasting menu. The intimate setting of just 10 tables creates the perfect ambiance, with impeccable yet approachable service. Each dish showcases subtle, delicate flavors that reflect both technical excellence and creative innovation. While portions are modest, the expertly crafted dishes and wine pairings create an unforgettable fine dining experience worthy of its two Michelin stars.

Wonderful dining experience. The seafood dishes were spectacular and it’s very satisfying to see haute cuisine with well seasoned dishes.

Food was ok. There was a 10% “admin fee” on the bill that was questionable. It was a $1,000 dollar plus beverages so the admin fee ended up being $100. I just don’t know what admin work there is to justify this charge.

Honestly pretty noisy but I feel like it’s intentional so the tables feel more secluded. Personally wish the seats didn’t have a stool separating when dining for 2 but that’s more preferential. The food is phenomenal staff is so so friendly—it feels like they are background actors haha. The space is very intentional well done. Aquavit does not even compare to this if a date is what you’re looking for. The food is also very interesting while aquavit is more classical well done Swedish dishes this is a great space for a date as the dishes give you something to talk about with your partner that pertains to the space you’re in.

I had wanted to go to Aska for a while, but timing never worked out until recently, and was very excited to finally have dinner at Aska. My husband and I loved our dinner at Aska, and would go back in an instant. The food was incredible, truly above and beyond, the wine pairings were perfect. Service was varied depending on the person serving; some of the chef's (also waiters) and sommeliers were wonderful and others left us wanting more. The general vibe of the diners was different than we anticipated, and was more on the casual side; which isn't bad, just not what we expected going in. Knowing this, we would have dressed differently than we did for the evening to fit in better. However, the only really questionable moment of the evening was when the front of house staff went to grab our coats, and returned with coats that were not ours. My husband had brought a custom made tweed wool coat (that my grandfather had made for himself and I inherited), and I had brought a Max Mara double-faced wool wrap coat. The coats provided to us at the end of the night were Zara polyester blend coats, which were not terrible, but very clearly were not our coats. After being handed another woman's coat, I immediately told the head of house that this was not my coat, based on feel alone. They were apologetic and went about finding our coats, but I still worry about how things would have gone if the couple whose coats we initially received had received our coats before us; would they have said that those were not their coats? Or would we have walked away without the coats we had brought. It left a bit of a sour taste to an otherwise perfect dinner. Hopefully, they bring in tagged coat check.
