   Once again, Restaurant Week disappoints. I believe that the restaurants bring in inexperienced servers to help out due to increased traffic. In this case, the server did not seem accustomed to working in a sophisticated restaurant. Starting out, she brought a bottle of Bordeaux vintage 2021 instead of 2020 which was posted on the menu. I asked her if the price would be the same, which seemed to momentarily confuse her. She babbled an excuse about 'high turnover' of popular bottles and that the owner couldn't keep track of the updates. Only the entree course hit the mark. The wapiti medallion was tender and (according to my partner) cooked to perfection. My veal medallions were exceptional: tender and flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The accompanying polenta was a wonderful puddle of yum! The appetizers were a letdown: the filet mignon tartare was mixed in with capers, the strong flavor of which overpowered the delicate flavor of the meat. When I pointed this out to the server, she said "Well, I like capers". Totally inappropriate response. Should have been something like, "I'll let the chef know." She also explained to us that wapiti is elk, as if we are too dumb to know before ordering it. My appetizer was wild mushrooms, which were served in a semi-spicy tomato-based broth. That was not mentioned in the description of the dish, and I was disappointed. Desserts: creme brulee was good but not as good as La Merise's version. The chocolate cake was not cake at all but rather more like a fudge. We sent it back. At the end of the meal, the server took way too long to bring the check, which not only included a 'sustainability fee' but also a "Denver fee of 9.15% (19.22), and an automatic 20% tip referred to as a 'service fee'. I complained about this and was graciously allowed by another employee to lower it to 15%. If you want French food, La Merise is a better choice during Restaurant Week.

   We had a wonderful dinner! Our server Josh was excellent & was so knowledgeable! He added to the experience by selecting the perfect wine pairings with our courses!

   We came for restaurant week and the food was amazing. The filet mignon tartare was to die for! Josh was an amazing server and did a great wine pairing for us!

   Wine dinner which was less well attended. Noise level allowed conversation. Wonderful ambience and service. Kate is superb, as is Josh.

   Everything about our evening was wonderful. From the attentiveness of the staff and our waitress's recommendations to the food and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items.
