The ambience was elegant and comfortable and the wait staff was accommodating even as we chose to split some dishes. The food was delicious. We were happy diners.

This is a tough one for me, because socializing with friends and trying new places to eat in NYC is common for me. Positives: the food was great, good presentation and portion sizes, the crowd and noise level were quiet -moderate, the ambiance was nice. Negative: the service. It was perfunctory, the server did his job but had a very dry demeanor. My friend who had ordered a glass of Sancerre, felt like he had talked down to her when he started offering different types of white wines that she could have. At any eatery, the service should be welcoming and friendly, especially at their price point. Both my friend and I left feeling happy about the food, but unsettled by the employee demeanor. I can’t say that I’d hurry back or recommend bc the experience was off putting.

Atlantic Grill is a beautiful space with an overpriced, mediocre menu. The servers were very friendly, but took forever and were not particularly accommodating (Would not let my 9 year old daughter order off the sushi menu because it was before 4pm….and yet, our food arrived at 4:30). Won’t be rushing back.

Good food and excellent service in a congenial space. Good list of wines by the glass. It was very quiet when we arrived at 5:45; by 7:30 the noise level was moderate — louder but not unpleasantly so.

My wife & I were looking forward to the Atlantic Grill. When it was on the UES it was a regular "thing" for us. We couldn’t have been more disappointed. The only aspect of that was better than the old Atlantic Grill was that the decor was a little nicer. The seating was comfortable. The waiter although nice, was difficult to understand, & his service was less than mediocre. He didn't introduce himself & was fast to ask whether we wanted still or sparkling - tacky. I mean we always have sparkling water with our dinner, but to up sale at the start & make people ask for tap. We choose the pre-fix. Wife started with guacamole. Presentation was good, but was served with elongated plantain chips, some might prefer, but I thought it took away from the dish. The guacamole itself was mediocre. I had butternut soup. It was not hot, far too sweet & was over-the-top with cream. Entrees, my wife had their "signature" chicken dish. It comes with roasted potatoes, but my wife prefers mashed. They declined to substitute. But my wife likes mashed, so I ordered a side of mashed. Her chicken dish came out luke warm as did the mashed potatoes. The waiter was unable to accommodate, but he did ask the "manager" to come over. The manager was quite pleasant & had her meal & mashed sent back to the kitchen. Meanwhile I'm eating my entree alone with my wife's undivided attention. I am by no means a diner who devours his food. By the time my wife's food makes it back to the table, I have already finished my meal. Mind you, it's 5 PM on a Sunday night, so it is not busy. BTW her food wasn’t that much warmer upon return. My entree, recommended by the waiter, was Salmon with Béarnaise. My meal did not come out hot, but warm enough. The béarnaise was not béarnaise - someone forgot the tarragon. But the hollandaise they served (on the side, thank God) with the dish was a watery version, lacked enough egg yolk, butter, but had too much lemon juice & was that tarragon vinegar?

The food and service was very good. Unfortunately, my wife ordered another drink for herself and we both got another drink. My drink, which I didn’t ask for, was bad. I should have sent it back.

This once great restaurant is a sad semblance of it's former self.  The service continues to be good but the menu is limited, the recipes mundane, and the prices far too high for the product delivered.
