   Perfect Mother’s Day brunch. Food delicious, service friendly and prompt and ambience was spot on. Can see why Bacchus has a reputation as MKE’s best white-cloth restaurant.

   The Mother’s Day brunch was fabulous. The food was spot on and our server was vary attentive but it was subtle, The cadence of service was excellent.

   My husband and I had dinner at Bacchus to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We love the elegant yet vibrant ambience of this beautiful downtown restaurant. We both ordered off the vegetarian menu. I am always impressed that a fine dining restaurant such as Bacchus offers a thoughtful, innovative, and delicious three course dining experience tailored for vegetarians. I am a vegetarian cook and wanted to try dishes that I have not made myself. So, I ordered the potato watercress soup for first course and fried maitake mushroom with couscous pilaf for second course. Both were fun and delicious. We shared the molten chocolate hazelnut cake for dessert. So good! The service was similarly excellent. It was a special evening.

   Bacchus boasts an undeniably impressive wine list, making it a promising destination for those seeking a thoughtful pairing experience. The dishes we sampled were rich in flavor, and the portion sizes were satisfying, leaving us comfortably full. However, our recent visit presented an uncharacteristic lapse in service for a Bertolotta establishment. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait at the bar for our table. Despite having both the cocktail and wine menus, we were not approached to place an order during our 20-minute wait. Once seated, an additional 15 minutes passed before we received water and the food menu. While a busy restaurant might explain such delays, it was notable that nearly half of the tables appeared to be unoccupied. We did appreciate the manager taking the time to inquire about our experience. Unfortunately, the level of service did not noticeably improve afterward. Our request for assistance from the sommelier in navigating the extensive wine selection also went unfulfilled. While this experience deviated from the consistently high standards I've come to expect from Bertolotta restaurants, the quality of the cuisine remains a significant draw. On this basis, I am inclined to give them another opportunity in the future.

   Took nearly twenty minutes to even get our drinks or bread for the table, and the restaurant wasn’t any where near packed. Server suggested she would take drinks off the order, never happened. Sequencing of food felt off for the rest of the night. Salads came a bit after the drinks, ordered another set as main course arrived and they didn’t show up for a long time. Took awhile to clear the food and waited almost as long as the drinks for our desserts. Main waitress was very kind, felt like her help was MIA. Not at all what I expect for a $200+ dinner and only tipped because I’m not that guy.

   The food, ambience, and service are exceptional. Kimberly and Nick are a great team. They made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. I also appreciate the manager checking on me. The octopus starter and kiwi desert were both excellent recommendations. The amazing experience is always well worth the money.

   Wonderful restaurant—one of the best in the Milwaukee area. Our servers, Autumn and Adam, were knowledgeable and professional — making the dining experience special. Multiple menu choices and everything we ordered was delicious.
