   The coconut shrimp is PHENOMENAL. The salmon poke bowl was good along with the salmon roll. The service wasn't good - waiter got my order wrong and took a very long time to check back on our table each time.

   The starters were good. We ordered one of the steak specials the waiter sold us on. Then came back to tell us they were sold out of the special, yet, our sitting was an early sitting of 6pm on a Monday night, so not sure how they were sold out. We switched to another steak entree but wanted the peppercorn sauce offered in the special. Ten minutes later they came back to say they don’t have enough sauce. Really, how hard is it to make a peppercorn sauce. The steak I ended up having was cooked medium not medium rare how I ordered it. Disappointing overall. Won’t be returning.

   My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at the V Balboa Surf Club and the experience was nothing short of amazing. Our server Aisha was very well versed on the menus and attentive. I had the redfish which was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. My partner had the grouper (off menu) and really enjoyed it as well. Aisha made sure to send us something special from the kitchen for our anniversary and we loved that! From Aisha, to the food and ambiance, everything tied into our night so well and really made this a memorable anniversary!

   It was a most enjoyable evening. The appetizers were lite and tasty. The coconut shrimp was my favorite. My salmon was cooked perfect and the Kale salad was delicious.

   Came here for a rare night out with my husband and thoroughly enjoyed it! Arrived a bit early for our reservation and had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. The ambiance was nice; dim without being overly dark and the noise was moderate despite a fully packed bar area and dining room. Food was superb…we ordered the coconut shrimp (not my favorite, but my husband loved it), spicy tuna roll (excellent), the ribeye and the roasted chicken were equally delicious. I think my favorite aspect of our visit was the service. Friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in, especially considering it was a busy holiday weekend. Can’t wait to return!

   Great food. Took awhile to receive our drink orders before and during dinner. Felt rushed to order. Had to ask our waitress to give us more time. The speed of the meal was more like during the week lunch experience rather than a Saturday evening

   In spite of being "bustling" with lots of activity and energy, our group enjoyed excellent service and incredible fare at the Houston Uptown Balboa Surf Club Saturday evening. The Balboa Server, Mila, was exceptional while tending to our every question and request with a "warm smile" and friendly attitude. All in all...a great time at The Uptown Balboa Surf Club.
