   This was our NYE dinner. I love clam strips and they are not the easiest to find in Toronto. So when this place opened up we jumped at the chance to give it a try. It did not disappoint but there are a few things you should be aware of. Pros: Service - Luke our server was excellent and had good knowledge of the food. Food - Excellent. We shared the Iceberg salad, molasses bread, clam strips, a dozen oysters and the cod and chips. All were great, tasty, well presented, etc. Room - Very different than any other restaurant in Toronto. Mirrored ceiling, large bar and counter seating. Cons: Wine by the glass options were very limited. We made do but it wasn't ideal. All customers should be aware that there are no tables at this restaurant. It is ALL counter seating, either at the counter or along the windows or walls. Now for two of us, it wasn't a big deal... but larger groups may find this not conducive to socializing as it limits who you can converse with in side-by-side seating. 4.75/5

   Great service . The food was excellent. One of the best steamed mussels that I have had in a long time. The hot turkey sandwich was very good. The scallops were cooked just right. I would definitely go back.

   Never in my life did I expect to see Jiggs dinner on a menu!! Was very curious about a restaurant’s take on newfie dishes - bar clams definitely delivered elevated takes without compromising the integrity of the dish!!! Service was a little slow but I think it’s because someone more notable was sitting beside us. Can’t wait to bring my nana here she will think it’s crazy a restaurant is serving up boiled dinner

   Overpriced and and not very tasty. It feels like it is priced like a fine dining restaurant, but the food quality is what you would get from a food truck. Fonda Balam was much better, and don’t plan on returning to Bar Clams unless the menu gets a complete overhaul. Everything was over salted, and served in starters portions. Might be in the minority here, but I’ve always found Matty Matheson very overrated.

    The entire experience was perfection. The food was fantastic. Our server Jack made everything exciting and enjoyable. The music was amazing. The vibe in the restaurant was the best. The steamed clams were the best I’ve ever had and the lobster bisque was off the charts.
