They weren't open? Do not make a reservation here. We made a reservation for 5 people on a Saturday and arrived to a closed establishment.

Second time eating here. This place could be great if they could just figure out their service issues. They had a DJ which was a cool vibe for a Saturday night, but definitely not your typical restaurant vibe. Food order came out sporadically, a second round of drinks never came, food arrived and then had to wait to flag someone down for silverware. Not sure if they need to hire more people or just train the ones they have better. Drinks seemed overpriced for what they were. Drunken noodles are good and the crab Rangoons were good but came with a different dipping sauce than the first time, which wasn’t as good.

We had high hopes for Bar East as the look of this place is really cool....but it was a disappointment. Service was horrendous! Three in our party ordered wine so we decided to get a bottle. Only two options for a bottle (????!) so we each ordered a glass. One glass was passed along by one person in our party who got a quick whiff and she could tell something was off. The bottle had obviously gone bad. We returned them to our Server who informed us that neither she nor the Bartender knew anything about wine. Really?! A bartender that can't tell if a bottle of wine has gone bad?! Thankfully, they had no issue with opening a new bottle providing 3 glasses that were fine. The Bar East website says " We take pride in our upbeat dining experience, exhibiting craft cocktails accompanied with lively music" The lively music was piped in...this is Nashville, right? We assumed this would be 'live music' as it was Friday night...so disappointing. The Server would take drink orders and not deliver them. When we would ask about them she'd act as if we never told her. One order took 3 attempts to finally receive. Of note: Server's 'uniform' is not universally attractive on all bodies. Seeing our Servers belly hanging out from under the crop top you must require them to wear isn't exactly appetizing. Crab Rangoon was good. Edamame had good flavor but was WAY too spicy for even an adventurous eater in our group. Entrees were also good. Too bad the service has a good chance of burying what could be a great place.

Unfortunately there was one bartender and one server in the main dining area. The server was prompt with taking our order and very nice. We waiting 15+ minutes for our initial drinks. ( there were two other tables occupied and maybe a handful of people at the bar ) Our friends showed up. Ordered their drinks - one of which was a beer. She brought back his beer. Me and my Husband still didn’t have our drinks from first encounter. He got a vodka soda with lime. I asked if the drinks would be much longer ( had already been 25+ minutes ) cause if so we would all just order beers. She checked. They would be out soon. The food was tasty and quick. The location and seating was very cool. Bar service was really slow for even basic things.

Hosts was great, very nice. But the place was empty while other area places were packed. It’s cute but everything is mid at bested. Does not seem like they know what they want to do/be

Food was average at best. Drunken noodles not very flavored and pad Thai was very dry. Music was more like a club than a restaurant. Never even had a chance to order a second drink as our server never came back to the table after delivering food. Had to flag him down just to get our bill. Was given and charged for the wrong table. Couldn’t even get anyone’s attention. Had to find someone to be able to void that payment and charge us the right amount. Only redeeming quality was that it was in an are of other restaurants so we could go somewhere else for desert and an after dinner drink.

We had a reservation for 7:30, we weren’t greeted for drinks till almost 8pm. The server never came back to get our food orders. Eventually we had to flag down the manager for food and drink refills. Our food did arrive quickly, but it was clearly canned food, jarred salsa, pre made and overall it was terrible. Our server didn’t come back for the rest of our time there. The bathrooms were not clean. The only good thing I can say about the place was The bartender was working very hard and the drinks she made were great. They were out of glassware. I would not come back here.

Had a reservation. Sat down and after 10 minutes we order 2 drinks. Took 15 minutes to get the drinks. We ordered 3 small plates. Server never came back. Husband went to the bar to get us 2 more drinks. Finally, our server walked by. At this point we had been there an hour. I explained that after we got our small plates, we would be leaving. He said he never put the orders in. 1 hour, 2 drinks, 2 drinks my husband went and procured, $100. Ridiculous.

We didn’t actually get to eat. We were completely ignored. We stood at the host stand for 10 min with another couple being actively ignored. We finally went to the bar and the bartender very nonchalantly said, oh just grab a seat anywhere. We sat ourselves and for maybe 15 min watched as servers diverted their eyes from us. We listened as the table next to us complained about not getting their food and noticed many tables just sitting around with empty cocktails glasses and no food. We realized that it wasn’t worth getting “involved” any further and so stood to out our coats on to leave. Servers actually stepped around us without even acknowledging that we were leaving. We exited the restaurant without anyone saying anything. It’s unfortunate. There are great new asian restaurants popping up all over Nashville. I’ve had great service and great experiences in many of them. I won’t go back to this place. I don’t imagine it will last very long in its current format.
