Our menus and beverages showcase Vermont’s abundance of local products and celebrate its farms and producers. The inn Was beautifully decorated for the holidays! But We had a res and still waited almost an hour for our table. The menu was small and limited …. The tomahawk steak was good but VERY SALTY! And the ‘med rare’ steak was almost uncooked. The Extra lobster we ordered tasted fishy and was inedible. Waiter and service was great. We have come here for the last few years for xmas eve, but will probably go someplace else next year.

The food at Barrows House is consistently amazing. Tonight we had mallard duck (fantastic), scallops with risotto, salmon and the delicious tuna poke nachos to start. Because it was a Monday in stick season, the restaurant volume was quiet. A lovely change. It’s usually bustling and loud which isn’t bad, just different. Thanks to the Barrows House staff for a great evening. Highly recommend.

The food was very good, service was not that good. Server did not even tell us his name, which I thought was strange. It was so loud we couldn’t even hold a conversation with each other. The tables are to close together and the two women next to us were so loud. Probably won’t be back.

Bad timing…The dining room was closed due to a large party so we were seated beside a noisy bar area. Definitely not what we were expecting. Food and service were good but a lot of people standing around the bar five feet from your table along with the loud music…not a great dining experience for $115.00 (tax and tip included).
