Bastille Brasserie & Bar is located at the corner of North Fayette & Pendleton Street in Alexandria VA.

Chefs Christophe & Michelle Poteaux's award winning restaurant & bar, located in Old Town Alexandria, has continuously offered guests fresh takes on classic French cuisine, all within our quaint neighborhood brasserie.

Our creations are rooted in the use of seasonal, locally sourced and farm fresh ingredients. Our passion for French food, wine & culture is what we celebrate daily with all of Alexandria & the DMV.     First time at Bastille. Very handsome place. Large menu of French standards. Very good portion size. Onion soup was excellent as was duck breast. We’ll be back!

    What a wonderful way to celebrate our Anniversary! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. The staff was amazing and perfectly attentive, professional and personable. Every bite of food was fresh, delectable and beautifully presented. We so appreciated how special we were made to feel and look forward to returning soon!

    The entire evening was simply amazing! Great service, well designed menu and perfect atmosphere! We were able to enjoy ourselves and never felt rushed! As far as dishes goes, we recommend the caviar, the halibut and of course the buche de Noel! We will see you soon!

    The Christmas Eve dinner is always a hit, but this they seemed to somehow take it up a notch. If they didn't have a seasonal, changing menu, I'd plead for that halibut to be a permanent fixture on the menu. Great service from the host, the bartenders, the server, the runners...Bastille is still nailing it. Oh, and special props to the bartenders. They are real pros who obviously take pride in their craft and not just absent-mindedly throwing ingredients together.

    As usual, the food and service were exceptional. We started with escargot and beet salad, then had steak frites (perfectly medium rare) for our second course; all washed down with a lovely Bordeaux. We had the pot du crème for dessert. Delightful. I just love this restaurant, and highly recommend it.

    Absolutely wonderful late lunch with impeccable service! Food was outstanding - every delectable bite. Reasonably priced. Coming back for NYE! Easy parking right across the street. Give it a try - we think you’ll love it!
