Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table.

We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required.

We do not offer any outdoor seating. Private dining, kitchen counter and large party seating available. Email hello@batatucson.com for inquiries.

This was our second time at Bata and the experience was just as outstanding as our first. We did the Chef’s Choice tasting menu on both occasions and were delighted with all the dishes! Kudos to the Chef Wyatt! If you have not yet had a chance to go and/or are visiting Tucson for the first time, make Bata a must place to dine. It’s delicious and worth every penny! Bon Appetit!

Incredibly overwrought and oddly flavored dishes. Trying WAY too hard to combine different and atypical ingredients. Each dish is described in elaborate terms, but deliver either bland taste combinations or are disguised with overpowering salt or citrus. We really enjoy good and adventurous food but this delivers nothing but disappointment. The coctails are decent and the wines limited in scope. The wine pour was short. Happy enthusiastic staff can’t make up for a hugely disappointing experience.

This was our first visit to Bata and right from the start, I felt that we were in for a treat. We started with the aged beef and pork bites, getting 2, one for each of us. They were delicious. Malawach came next with cured egg yolk jam. It was completely delicious! We had the beef tartare with rye toast crisps and jardinere, we devoured it. Next came the pork carnitas which was in poblano miso sauce with pickled onions. The pork was tender and the sauce was thick and savory. The pickled onions added a nice cut to the richness of the dish. We ended with the grilled squash in a red curry with a som salad accompanying it. Amazing! We were too full for dessert. It was ALL SO GOOD!! We will definitely go back.

We both chose the let them choose 5 plate meal. It was a good amount of food without being overwhelming. We really enjoyed it. We sat at the bar and both bartenders kept us informed about each plate and our drinks. We always enjoy Bata and this time was no different.

Lovely server (he). The chef picks for 4 is fun and much more reasonable than buying ala carte.
