Our stunning ocean-front location with spectacular sunsets makes the Beach House an iconic destination on Kauai's south shore that has won the Hale 'Aina Award for "Best Restaurant - Kauai" for 20+ years.

Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take aloha, blend it with fresh and high-quality ingredients, and add an ocean view to deliver a handcrafted, Hawaiian experience. Executive Chef Marshall Blanchard makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from island fisherman and our beef from neighboring ranches. We incorporate fresh and local produce throughout our menu, highlighting Hawai'i farms and the resources that surround Kauai.

Reservations are highly recommended for a dining room table in our open-air restaurant. We also offer lounge seating on our lawn, where the full menu and full service are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please check in with the bar host for lawn seating.

Sorry. It this has to be one of the worst experiences we have had at a good restaurant, ever. We come to Hawaii often and i is probably the worst experience. I had noted on the reservation it was my son’s 16th birthday. The place was very crowded, checkin was ok. But it really started with the service - which was consistently brusque and borderline rude. The server was curt and standoffish. The kids were hungry so directly ordered drinks and food. The food was delivered but two of the main dishes - coconut crusted mahi mahi were downright “cold” (not warm). My 16 year old son was so hungry - he just ate it. My wife’s dish was tasteless and hard to eat. The server didn’t come and ask at any time how the food was. Finally when she came - i mentioned to her about the food quality. Her response was “oh, you didn’t like it, we will take it off the bill”. That’s not a response I expect when we are there for a nice dinner for my son’s 16th birthday. Didn’t ask about what they could do, forgot about the birthday note. Then - I requested to talk to the manager at reception. She seemed nice and listened - came to the table and said sorry but again nothing to make up for the experience. Said she would give us her card, she never did. Kids were tired and we left and came home. Really bizarre and bad service, bad food, little to make up for it after a bad experience. Will never go here again.

I expected Beach House to be a restaurant where the food was a bit disappointing and a lot overpriced because we were paying for the location. It blew those expectations away in a bad way. The food was worse than any of the casual restaurants we ate at on the island. The steak we got was fine, but the seafood was borderline inedible. And the service was even worse. We weren’t seated until 20 minutes after our reservation. It took another 20 minutes until we could order appetizers and drinks. We asked to order entrees at the same time and were promised our server was coming right back after putting in our drinks to take that order. He didn’t come back for another half hour, and only because we chased him down. Our wine also didn’t come for a half hour (meaning we were sitting at a table with menus, no drinks, and not having even ordered food well over an hour after arriving for a reservation). The location is beautiful, but it only goes so far. I would never eat here again. If you’re reading this, please don’t make the same mistake I did.

The Rib Steak Special was very tough and definitely would not recommend it. The scallops were just a bit underdone. However, our server was excellent. We probably should have ordered a fish dish

Always a great experience and meal at the beach house. Beautiful view great service and ambiance. Christmas Eve dinner. Our 12th time there and you can’t go wrong. A bit pricey but everything is in Hawaii. Going back on our last night in Kauai

Beautiful location right on the Ocean. We went early, grabbed a drink, and joined many others in watching the sunset. Two of us ordered scallops that mostly tasted smoked and a few had a hard char on the outside, which was disappointing; made even more so given that the macadamia crusted fish was amazing. The reason for the rating is that they seated us right in front of the kitchen. I’d normally ask to move but they were at capacity and there were no other options. They kept the door to the kitchen open the whole time so not only did we have (very noisy) restaurant sounds, but also kitchen noise. My sons plan dessert out as soon as they get an menu and not only did they have to look at the kitchen the whole time, but when it came time for dessert they just wanted out of there. Whatever they were watching in the back made them not want more food from the restaurant. Go for the sunset, but maybe eat elsewhere?

Great location and good service. Food was ok. Had dinner last week on Maui at Mamas Fish House and there is no compression, especially with the higher price point at Beach house. This is a one and done for us. Recommend you save the cash.
