   The Honey Pot is a secret dining space within the Bee-side Balcony restaurant. The ambiance of the small space was terrific. Our group of four enjoyed honey based craft apricot cocktails, a ginger-mescal cocktail and a non alcoholic prickly pear cocktail. All were excellent. We shared a cheese plate, sliders and truffle fries which were all good. The staff was friendly and if you speak French, the owner and bartender speak it fluently. Parking is not easy in the downtown area, so plan accordingly, but there are so many fun shops in the downtown to explore that we didn’t mind the walk.

   Oh my goodness… This place is fantastic! Great food and insanely good bottomless mimosa deal. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

   Food and drinks were overall good. However, we did wait 20-30 minutes for skewers and fries to come out. Our waiter was nice, however my party and I had to flag her down multiple times and even ask another waiter and host for service. We were told it was last call so we ordered 2 more and drinks and an appetizer and once our drinks/food were given, we were given our check and told there was no rush and to take our time. However, about 15 mins later, a different waiter came into the lounge turned the lights on and yelled, we’re closed and immediately started picking up our drinks/food even when we were still finishing our drinks. There was another party as well in the lounge and did not receive the same treatment. Beforehand, no one had informed us that the lounge was closed at the time and we were very rudely kicked out. Even when we were waiting to use the restroom (since they were occupied), the same server told us very rudely again, they were closed. If there was better communication and we were properly given a heads up as to when the lounge was closing, this experience could have been avoid. Also, ironically, as we were leaving, a big party was ending out from the restaurant at the same time. I was celebrating my birthday and it was my first time at this establishment, however the service was extremely poor and will not be recommending this place because of the experience.

   We went for lunch on a chilly day (high in the mid-50s, what is winter here in La Jolla). We thought by getting a table inside we'd be OK, but they keep all doors open, and it was like a wind tunnel in the place. We were so cold we couldn't enjoy our meal. Won't go back until the temperatures are warmer.

   We're beyond excited for our upcoming wedding rehearsal dinner in July at The Beeside! We recently had the chance to visit the venue and enjoy a tasting of the dishes we’ll be serving, and let me tell you – it exceeded all expectations. The venue itself is absolutely adorable, and it’s perfect for our event. The staff was incredibly attentive, and we were so impressed by the personalized service we received from Christophe and Guen – they truly made us feel like family. As for the food, WOW. We sampled a wide variety of menu items, and everything was unique, flavorful, and downright delicious. It’s clear that every dish is made with care and attention to detail. The Bride and Groom are beyond excited to celebrate their pre-wedding night with their family and wedding party at such a special place. If you haven’t yet tried The Beeside, do yourself a favor and add it to your list of must-visit restaurants in San Diego. We couldn’t have picked a better spot to kick off this incredible celebration!

    Always a great meal at BeeSide. Amazing staff, great food and great owner. Always went to the Del Mar location and this was my first time at the La Jolla location. Very cozy and warm on a rainy evening.
