ROMANESCA CUISINE - The Berzitello restaurant is located in the heart of Rome, a few steps from the Quirinale Palace, via Nazionale. The restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine, where you can enjoy first courses of Roman and other cuisine, the wine list is also excellent.

GREAT AVAILABILITY - The owner of the structure, Adriano, presents a traditional, characteristic and very welcoming environment, where in the evening candles light the room and the barrel outside enchants passersby. It is an ideal place for lunches with friends and family.

RECOMMENDED DISHES - You should definitely try the first courses of the Roman tradition, but also the paccheri sea bass and tomato, the fillet of sea bass in a potato crust, squid with Parmesan, as well as the seadas and the puff pastry and chocolate.

The cacio e Pepe and carbonara were very good. The buffalo mozzarella on the caprese was also very good, wish it had more basil leaf. Nice ambiance and good service from the staff.

For Italy, food not up to par. Every bottle of wine I ordered from the menu, they didn't have. Then brought out one that was twice the cost and tried to up sell. Caprese salad was just plain sliced tomatoes with no seasoning and a piece of mozzarella. Pasta was decent, but couldn't make up for the rest.

Please avoid this place. I made Christmas reservations and was sent the menu in advance, on Instagram, which included pizza. I specifically asked if their regular menu was available for Christmas and they said yes. When we arrived we tried to order wine but unfortunately they had crazy markups on cheap, terrible wine - a $4 bottle of “Loggia Poste” in a wicker basket going for 18 euros. The waiters were trying to tell us it was good wine! Then we tried to order pizza and was told sorry, no pizza tonight. Moments later, we watched a pizza be served to another table. I asked about it and was told they made an exception for this table but there was no real explanation for why they did that. Between that and the wine we were ready to just leave. We ate our suppli and bruschetta appetizers and thank goodness we left, the suppli was totally dry and tasteless, can’t imagine how our entrees would have been. It’s crazy a place in Rome would carry such cheap wine. This is a tourist trap place and I can’t believe the good reviews it has. Avoid at all costs!

Great local restaurant. Our server Andrew was exceptional, attending to our every request. He truly hustled. The food was amazing. Pizza!!! Focaccia!! Pasta dishes!! Meats and seafood!!! All amazing! Tremendous value. Would have given this 5 stars except for a very limited wine selection. We were a party of 8 and as such sat in a back room that unfortunately had a strong smell of sewage. This was likely caused by a temporary situation that most probably will not affect future dining as it appeared that management was in the process of dealing with the problem.
