For a restaurant that promotes itself as “real Indian food”, it was not even close. The food had close to no flavor, especially regarding traditional flavors and spices. As a woman from Indian and a cook, I was very disappointed and do not recommend Bibi Ji to anyone looking for good real Indian food, let alone even good enjoyable food. Our main dishes were Saag Paneer and Dal Makhani. The only thing that was recognizable and decent was the naan (bread). People were friendly and atmosphere was hip I have never eaten at an Indian restaurant that the food was so far off the mark and just did not have much taste.

We enjoyed every aspect of our meal. There was a small glitch in the kitchen that delayed our meal, but the food was outstanding. We’ll be back.

One of my favorite places in Santa Barbara. The cauliflower appetizer is delicious, Pita bread - perfect. Butter chicken delicious, and the Murg chicken really good as well. These are the things I usually eat but everything else looks really good too. I love their presentation of the food and flavors.

The food was average but the prices were exorbitant. We order the Mysore Bonda which were fine. The butter chicken was very good. The eggplant Baingan Bhartha was not very good and tasted like something I would have maybe tried making at home but then would decide to never make again. The basmati rice was below average. The naan was fine. For $8 I asked how many pieces of naan to an order and I was told four, but it was actually one piece cut into four slices. The prices are crazy high and the portions are small. After $100, I left feeling scammed.

The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. However, the portion sizes were quite small and the dishes were quite expensive. Our total bill was $230 for 4 people, and we didn’t even order drinks! We will not be returning.
