   Bice is one of the most beautiful dining experiences in Palm Beach. I celebrated my birthday there this past weekend. The concierge is hard-working and was as accommodating as possible to my request when it came to outdoor seating. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. The food was, as always, delicious. If you enjoy people watching, an outdoor table will give you a front row seat to some of Palm Beach‘s finest (request a table near the entrance door). I appreciated their attention to the fact that it was my birthday in bringing me a lovely little dessert with candle, accompanied by singing (which was quite good). Oh, and the lemoncello (gratis) was delicious! My highest recommendation for Bice.

   Bice is just not what it used to be. I’ve hesitated to write this review, but here we are. Focusing on today’s lunch, the once legendarily consistent seafood salad was soggy, tasteless — sickly looking squid. The vitello tonnato was average, and hastily plated. The service was fine, though management eventually and abruptly stepped in to take our order. To add insult to injury, the bridge and tunnel crowd is now a real thing on The Island, apparently. Unlike its neighboring counterparts, Bice does not exercise the same discernment when it comes to their guests. That’s why we stopped going for dinner so frequently — and now even lunch is in question. I hope they return to better times.

   You will not find a better Italian restaurant in all of Palm Beach. This goes for both the food and the service.

    Everything was perfect except that they turned the lights down so low at 6:45 that we could barely see our food. I don’t get it, most of the customers were over 60…
