One of Houston’s original restaurants, Birraporetti’s opened in 1974 with the slogan “A great Italian Restaurant…A heck of an Irish bar.” For almost 40 years, Birraporetti’s has been the place to gather on a date, celebrating with friends and family, for happy hour or before or after the theater.
We are noted for our award-winning stone oven pizzas, pastas such as lobster ravioli, & delicious main courses including hand-carved beef filet & fresh seafood. And don't leave without trying our signature Frozen Bellini’s, Irish Coffee, chocolate chip cheesecake, tiramisu, or the berries & cream.
Located in the heart of the Theater District. Steps away from the Alley Theater, Jones Hall, Hobby Center, Wortham, Houston Ballet, Bayou Music Center, Sundance Cinema & a few blocks from Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park.
Open late seven days a week. Join us for Sunday live Jazz Brunch Buffet, Live Music Mondays, or to enjoy our lunch menu for downtown business clients.

We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at Birraporetti's, which has become a cherished part of our tradition before attending A Christmas Carol at The Alley Theater. The festive ambiance, paired with the delicious Italian dishes and attentive service, set the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening. Birraporetti's truly enhances the magic of our annual holiday outing.

Went on a Saturday at 5 PM prior to going to Jones hall for the symphony. The service was super slow! Service was super friendly, but took about twice as long as it should have. Ie, waited ten minutes after being seated before seeing wait staff. Then another ten minutes to receive drinks. Went the whole meal w/o drink refills. Food was as expected, service was friendly, just way too slow.

Waiter was terrible. Some examples: 1) we asked for plain bread to eat with our salad, he brought garlic bread almost after we completed our entrees. 2) My wife had to get up to pour her own tea after waiting awhile for a refill 3) I ordered grilled white fish, he brought breaded white fish. The food and atmosphere were good, but the service was not.

Order in a drinks brought. Had time for a Cappacino before the show and in with 10 minutess to spare. Service was on point and was very friendly.enjoyed the meal.

I had the best time dining here before the show. Live music last night was fantastic. It was definitely busy and a full house. I thought the hostess was ok she didn’t make me feel very welcomed. Jordan our server was so polite and I loved how I never felt rushed during our dinner even though this was like the busiest time of the night. Mario is hands down the best employee there though, anytime he passed by he made sure we had everything we needed. We had the special pizza and it was so delicious I can’t wait to go back to try more stuff.

Our table was ready for us when we walked in and the Hostess was very nice. The service was timely and we were well taken care of. My Straw & Hay with shrimp was well prepared and tasty. My wife's appetizer was the calamarie and shrimp which she enjoyed. We had a chocolate mousse which was not very chocolatey and my key lime pie was mediocre. All that said, we would visit them again, especially since they are the only restaurant open in the evening close to Jones Hall and the Alley Theater. As busy as the establishment is, it is understandible how they have been in this location for ~ 30 years. I do recommend it for their entree preparation is reliably consistent. It is just not a 5 star restaurant in our opinion, it is a firm 3 star to 3½ star.
