One of Houston’s original restaurants, Birraporetti’s opened in 1974 with the slogan “A great Italian Restaurant…A heck of an Irish bar.” For almost 40 years, Birraporetti’s has been the place to gather on a date, celebrating with friends and family, for happy hour or before or after the theater.
We are noted for our award-winning stone oven pizzas, pastas such as lobster ravioli, & delicious main courses including hand-carved beef filet & fresh seafood. And don't leave without trying our signature Frozen Bellini’s, Irish Coffee, chocolate chip cheesecake, tiramisu, or the berries & cream.
Located in the heart of the Theater District. Steps away from the Alley Theater, Jones Hall, Hobby Center, Wortham, Houston Ballet, Bayou Music Center, Sundance Cinema & a few blocks from Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park.
Open late seven days a week. Join us for Sunday live Jazz Brunch Buffet, Live Music Mondays, or to enjoy our lunch menu for downtown business clients.

Busy night due to the theater traffic. We had a reservation. Indifferent hostess tried to sit us at a at a high top by the reception desk in traffic flow. Then offered an equally bad seat at a shared high top made for groups. Finally got seated at a decent table. Waited 10 minutes for an overworked server to take a drink order and bring the menu. Food was ordinary. Caesar salad was eh, no offer of pepper or grated cheese. Mains were warm, not hot. Old fashioned was very good. Would not go back. Server was very nice, trying hard, but you're paying for the meal...

Reservation for 4 prior to show at 5pm. Seated on-time but it took 30 mins until server took our order for drinks and food. Food was prepared nicely and was very good. Salads have very sparse dressing so request more at time of order. Meals were timely once ordered with plenty of time to walk to 7pm show.

We were disappointed that we were seated downstairs in the special events area. It felt like we were eating in the basement. The normal seating area was beautifully decorated but did not get to enjoy it. The food and service were good.

From our table looking out windows, the ambience was lovely. However right behind us was a walkway that once crossed, staff were often yelling about hot food coming out. Tables were cleared using a big black bin, sometimes set on people’s table as guests were sitting. This was a scene more suitable for a cafeteria, not a restaurant where many patrons are dressed up and heading to theater or symphony. Food was good otherwise. Probably not going back.

Food was really good, restaurant had an old elegant feel about it. Kind of like what I like imagine elegant restaurants from the 70’s looked like. Tables were close and tight as far as space between other tables. Server/waiter was decent and service was pretty quick. Definitely make a reservation as restaurant was packed this Saturday evening. I will come back! There is a parking garage attached to building and parking was about 12.99.

We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at Birraporetti's, which has become a cherished part of our tradition before attending A Christmas Carol at The Alley Theater. The festive ambiance, paired with the delicious Italian dishes and attentive service, set the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening. Birraporetti's truly enhances the magic of our annual holiday outing.
