Bistro 555 is under new ownership by a group of long-time friends including the owners of former Le Mistral and Cafe Rabelais, established French institutions in Houston. With a joint-experience of over 5 decades, Bistro 555 will transport you to the different regions of France with traditional bistro fares. Our specialties include Escargot in sizzling garlic butter, onion soup topped with melted gruyere cheese, Moules-Frites, Cassoulet, and profiteroles. We also serve wood-oven fired pizzas.     It was a lovely evening but the lobster amuse bouche as well as the Chateaubriand and the fish entres were cooked well but not exceptional in flavor. The dessert was lovely though. All in all, the special New Years Eve meal was a little disappointing, but we enjoyed the evening anyway.

    Bistro 555 was fabulous, we had the salmon lunch special and blueberry salad. The ambiance feels like a French bistro although the noise level is higher than I would prefer. I really like this restaurant.

    We had a small team EOY gathering (7) , You are sitting close which makes for great group conversations, loved the food choices, the atmosphere is pretty cozy, no one had a cell phone out, everyone in the restaurant was eating and talking, the facility is not very large, the staff was pleasant. I think we were loud just because we were having such a good time-sharing great stories about life and living. I would recommend for small group, or just a good evening out. I did book in advance, since the facility is quaint and cozy.
