About this restaurant

  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for groups
Welcome to Bistro Di Marino. I hope your experience here is as fulfilling, simple and refined as the restaurant itself. We look forward to welcoming you at our one of a kind, BYOB restaurant, in the best small town in America!

Bistro di Marino is my kitchen. It’s where I get to do what I love and share it with all who pass through its doors. As you read this, we are busy in the kitchen pouring our hearts into our food. This is a love affair that goes back for many, many years and if you haven’t yet dined with us, consider this an invitation to experience four generations of my family in the place I call home.

With all of the controversy around Bistro, we were nervous this location might close too, so we wanted to offload our gift cards. In the past, this was our go-to date spot - we probably came here 6-10 times a year. We have out go to dishes, and we ordered them tonight and were disappointed. The pesto that came with our rolls was actually just oil, no actual pesto. The special of the night was ravioli topped with shrimp and lobster in a lobster cream sauce which is… Just their lobster ravioli offering on their menu? Our freddo plate had no olives on it and the tomatoes were rock hard with a paper thin slice of mozzarella placed on top. My husband loves the chicken arrabbiata - it tasted the same, but the serving size seemed smaller. I ordered the lobster gnocchi, which is where I feel I saw a decline in quality. The sauce was runny. I’ve known this dish to have big chunks of lobster in it. The lobster I had was flaky, almost as though it was canned lobster. The one consistency from the Bistro I know and love was the service - they all were doing a great job. It breaks my heart to see what feels like a decline to a restaurant that was once THE italian spot for everyone I know - hopefully they can turn a corner, but I am not sure I’ll be back until they do so.

I’d have to think this place is close to shutting down. We went to celebrate our parents joint retirement, and it was a horrible experience. The waiter started off by telling us that nearly half the menu items couldn’t be ordered because they were out of tons of stuff. No salad?!?!? Despite hardly anyone there, everything took forever to be brought out. The topper was when the receipt came out and it was hand written with pencil. Don’t waste your money and go somewhere else!!

Wish I could give 0 stars seeing as we did not ever get any food to review. We had a reservation for 6:15 and while we were sat right away, 7:30 had come and gone and we still did not have our food. Our waiter seemed to purposely avoid our table while we waited. The host came in multiple times and kept his back to our table purposely, something seemed very off. We waited for over an hour before we finally got up and left without ever receiving our food. For a Saturday night and only seeing young kids working there (no females by the way) we were very disappointed. We had been here multiple times before and had great experiences but this one was very fishy and we will not be returning.

Who runs out of Caesar dressing an hour after a restaurant opens ? The appetizers were brought out one by one long waits in between. I ordered veal Milanese., awful the worst cut of veal I ever had. The meatball app was sent back was horrible. When it was a small place it was very good, now that they expanded it went down way down. I will never go there again & can’t help but wonder if this is why the one in Sewell closed ! I’m truly surprised that they are still open.

Been here 40-50 times, but the last 3, a disappointment. Food (chicken or veal), just so so. Not so tender. Gnocchi, thankfully, always done well. Tonight, arrived for a 6pm reservation. Dining out to celebrate our 48th Anniversary. Had noted on “open table” we were coming in for our anniversary, and requested a window table. Sad to say, our server, the hostess too, needed to be directed to a window table, and never acknowledge our reason for being in tonight. All makes sense as your following seems to be dwindling. From now on, we’re dining down the street. Thanks for the better times!

Good Food & Service. The Sewell location was much bigger and nicer but the food is just as good

Our server was great. Had a wobbly table and he took care of it. Apps were very good. Gnocchi and meatballs. Dinners were lacking. Chicken arrabiata lacked flavor and had no spice. Lobster fettuccine had no lobster and no lump crab. Server did take half off which we appreciated. It seems this once great gem has lost a step.

Our food and service was excellent. We ordered the fried burrata as an appetizer along with appetizer portions of gnocchi to share. Everything was delicious. For entrees, the majority of us got the chicken parm or chicken marsala. The portions were huge. We really loved the chicken marsala with a generous amount of mushrooms and sauce. For dessert, we had the limoncello cake and creme brulee cheesecake which was wonderful. Our waiter checked on us regularly and refilled our bread when needed. Water was provided and refilled quickly as well. Our family had a wonderful time!

We had a reservation at 6:45 pm. We were standing around waiting amongst other diners at their own tables for over 20 mins before we got sat . There was no where to wait except near and around the other diners in the front room. (I would be very displeased if I was one of those diners at one of those tables). I understand Saturday night is a busy dining night, however maybe less reservations should be accepted to allow for a better dining experience. The hostess didn’t even address people for their reservations and was randomly seating couples. We had to go up to her once again after she kept seating people randomly.
