Seit April 2016 gehört das Bistro Fatal, geführt von Sarah & Alexandre Bourgueil, ausgezeichnet mit dem BIB Gourmand vom Guide Michelin, in Düsseldorf zu den gastronomischen Highlights der Landeshauptstadt.

Warum Femme Fatale, wenn man fatal schlemmen kann?

Hier wird geschätzte klassische Bistroküche mit Sternegastronomie à la française serviert, auf der Karte schaut man vom Austern Plateau aus auf bretonische Artischocke und Tartar de bœuf. Abgerundet werden Mille-feuille und Crêpes Suzette mit einer Auswahl überwiegend französischer Naturweine, die zum Verkosten einladen.

Charmante Bodenfliesen, kleine Bistrotische, moderne Wandkunst runden die tolle Atmosphäre ab – im Sommer lassen sich Speisen und Wein auf der Außenterasse genießen.
So manch ein Gast verglich den Restaurantsbesuch im Bistro Fatal mit dem Gefühl des Nachhausekommens – auf der Hermannstraße hat das Bistro definitiv eine schöne Bleibe gefunden.

Sehr schöner Abend zum Valentinstag. Sehr guter und aufmerksamer Service mit tollem Essen und Weinen. Auch der Schichtwechsel für unsere Reservierung 20:15 h hat gut geklappt. Kartenzahlung ging, allerdings weiterhin verwirrend mit dem Thema nur Debitkarten, hier einfach mal auch Kreditkarten akzeptieren und es ist unkompliziert.

The food was decent but didn’t stand out enough to justify the high prices, though the portion sizes were reasonable. However, we were unexpectedly charged €8 for a few slices of bread we didn’t order, which caught us off guard. The wine service was confusing. The menu lists a price, but then they ask whether you want 10cl or 20cl without clarifying what’s standard. They measure it out to the milliliter, which I’ve never encountered in a restaurant before—it felt unnecessarily fussy and unclear. At the end, when it came to tipping, they handed us the payment machine with preset options of 10%, 15%, or 25%. We chose to round up the bill by about €12 instead, but the staff claimed they didn’t know how to process it and made the situation awkward, subtly pressuring us to pick one of their options (10% alone was €20). On top of that, they automatically added €2 to the bill, which you have to explicitly ask them to remove. Overall, for a restaurant charging these prices, I’d expect more professionalism. It felt like they were constantly trying to nickel-and-dime us with sneaky tactics. If they want to charge more, they should just raise the prices outright—this kind of trickery feels cheap and off-putting.

Eine absolut fehlerfreie Küche trifft auf einen einfach nur begeisternden Service.... und das im Rahmen eines authentischen Bistros. mit einer wirklich gut durchdachten Karte. Gastronomie wie man sie leider nur noch selten erleben darf. 10 von 10 Punkten für die Küche und 10 von 10 Punkten für den Service und für die Weinempfehlungen gilt auch, wunderbar.
