So disappointing… we ate here a few years ago and had a horrible experience and the food was cold and undercooked but thought we’d try it again and had a even worse experience, if that’s possible. The food was under and over cooked. The chef obviously doesn’t taste the food that comes out for their kitchen. The Wagyu was seasoned well but cooked horribly, lobster risotto was flavorless with hardly any lobster and the risotto tasted like starch water, no seasoning at all. So sad for a resort restaurant. On a positive note, the wait-staff was friendly and helpful. We will never eat there again or suggest it to anyone.

Perfect Valentine's Day experience. This new lodge is absolutely stunning, and as local Sisters residents we've been waiting for the right opportunity to give the restaurant a try. Valentine's Day seemed ideal as they not only had their regular menu, but also a special Valentine's Day menu. The food was impeccably delicious and actually quite decently priced considering the stunner of a location, huge wall to floor windows looking right out onto the ranch lake and mountains (unfortunately they were clouded in this afternoon, but it was still a beautiful scene in its own right). We had the Wagyu coulotte, with the bourbon carrots and the winter salad and the taste was just as delicious as the plating. To top it off, the service was wonderful and the ambiance unbeatable. We will definitely be returning.

Great experience on a Monday night when the restaurant wasn’t busy. Server was excellent and food delicious. There were 9 in our party ( family with kids, parents and grandparents). Everyone was very with their menu choices. We’ll be back.

We love the lodge restaurant at Black Butte. It's absolutely gorgeous and cozy inside. The service was excellent (thank you, Alexis!). My husband and I shared the Caesar salad which was good but way overdressed. I had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection but the sides were just okay. My husband had the sturgeon and thought it was a little dry. The pork shank was sold out but is apparently the star of the menu. We'll try it next time.

We were hoping for a high quality experience. We waited for an hour for our appetizers. Then minutes after that the main course arrived. The squid ink pasta w octopus appetizer did not appear to have any octopus in it. I think there were some very small pieces of squid in it. I pointed this out and they took it off the bill. The half chicken was dry and lacked flavor. It was barely browned. The filet was cooked perfect and tasted good. The stated demiglace we more like a broth. Watery. Sad to say, overall it was a disappointing dinner.

We had a great dinner at the lodge restaurant. The service and food were excellent. We love the ambiance. The only thing I’d like to see changed is the ability to order a hamburger. We were told that it was only available to children on the kids menu. 😢

It is unfortunate after the time, energy, and cost involved with rebuilding the Black Butte Lodge that the dining experience is so poor. The menu was limited and the service was disappointing. Our server simply left our table twice as we were ordering, once when she asked what we wanted to drink and again when she asked if we wanted dessert. As we went around the table mulling over our order and asking questions she simply walked away. She then forgot one of our entrees and by the time it appeared (presented by a different server) the rest of us were nearly done eating. She left the bill, which was incorrect, and after five-plus minutes of waiting, I approached the hostess asking if that's where we needed to pay. She said, no, the server would be back. The server did return, corrected our bill, and we paid and left. A disappointingly underwhelming dining experience.

Food quality was fair. Have been homeowners for 20-plus years and the last two times the meals have been average. Lots of turnover in staff during our last 4 visits????

Menu is not a value for the price. Sad that they have a $20M venue and can’t do signature dishes. Service albeit friendly was inconsistent and misses in timely service and standards like bread are common place. Hoping the F&B Director can bring some life into the facility and bring it back to a dining destination.
