Blackfriars afternoon tea includes homemade sandwiches and pastries, freshly made scones and cakes along with a cup of tea/coffee. Afternoon Tea is served Friday and Saturday between 2.45-4.30pm and must be reserved and pre-paid at least 24 hours in advance. Please contact us directly if you have a voucher to use. We’re happy to offer gluten-free and vegetarian options with 48 hours’ notice. However, due to the nature of our menu, we’re unable to accommodate other dietaries, dietary requirements or substitutions. Afternoon Tea may be served in our King's Suite, which is located on the first floor. If you require a more accessible table, please get in touch to let us know.

Here’s your chance to explore the rich tapestry of flavours that Vietnam has to offer understanding traditions of the cuisine rely on fresh herbs and vegetables, and complimentary textures. We will learn how to create, cook and present some of the most famous dishes of Vietnam. From Vietnamese Spring Rolls to Spicy Pork & Noodles, this workshop is not to be missed! EXPECT RECIPES SUCH AS: + Classic Beef Pho (Demonstration) + Vietnamese Home Cooking: Thit Kho Caramel Pork, Hot & Sour Soup + Vietnamese Street Food:  Bánh Mì Sandwiches, Banh Xeo Pancake, Lemongrass Chicken + Vietnamese Salads & Aromatics: Summer Rolls, Bun Cha Noodle Salad, Traditional Pickles and Sauces. Exact recipes for this class will vary by season.

Gourmets believe Chinese to be one of the three major world cuisines - and gastronomy has been regarded as a high art in China for well over 2,000 years where food is always judged on its specific temperature and tastes - pungent, sweet, sour, bitter and salty -  such that Confucius stated if food wasn’t in perfect balance, man would not eat!  The geography and cultural differences of China are so vast, this will be no more than an introduction but we’ll do our best with rice, noodles, soy, garlic, ginger, pork and shrimp.
