   After a five star experience on our first visit in December last year I was excited to bring the family. I booked it months ago to celebrate my husband’s birthday and didn’t realise it coincided with Mother’s Day! As a result just roasts on offer. Really disappointing as the potatoes weren’t nice (not a great taste/texture which were clearly frozen potatoes and although the meat was tender and a generous portion the meal and gravy seemed over seasoned and salty. Didn’t enjoy it at all and felt overpriced for what we got. I’ll try it again when not set menu but disappointing this time.

   We had a wonderful roast for Mother’s Day. We had a wonderful time and a wonderful dinner. My brother hasn’t been back to Blacklock and was raving about the cheesecake to our waitress who then kindly gave him one to take away. I wish I took down her name to shout her out here, but it was incredibly kind and made my brothers year because he ADORES the cheesecake

   I wouldn’t recommend the Sunday roast if you’re hungry. While £24 for beef rump is reasonable by London standards, you only get two small slices—perhaps 150–180g at most. On the positive side, the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding weren’t greasy, and the small portion of vegetables was decent.

   I had a great evening at Blacklock. Food was well cooked and the service was fantastic. Francesca took great care of us and had useful advice on the menu to ensure we had an enjoyable night.
