   I had a waiter named Kyle who had terrific customer service and knew the menu well, and the restaurant was a nice relaxed setting. The calamari starter I had was perfect, but my lamb shank lacked in flavor , it was just cooked meat in a sense but the mashed potatoes and gravy it came with were enjoyable. As for my date the Chesapeake pasta was a nice taste but the flavor could've been enhanced. I also ordered a Shirley Temple but requested it be made with ginger ale instead of Sprite. Instead of serving a properly mixed drink, they brought me a glass of grenadine with a can of ginger ale on the side. Since it wasn’t mixed properly, it mostly just tasted like ginger ale. I expected them to prepare the drink as they would any other, so this was disappointing. If you're looking for new scenery in your restaurant selection I would recommend trying it out.

   This was my first time dining at Blackwall Barn & Lodge. My husband was recommended this restaurant from a coworker with high praises. We decided to celebrate our 15 year anniversary at Blackwall Barn & Lodge. When reserving our table I requested for special seating. The staff did not disappoint. Our server Kayla was outstanding with recommendations of food and drinks. She was attentive and helpful throughout the night. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were tasty. In the end I did not want to leave my comfortable table by the fireplace. My husband and I did order dessert to go. We would definitely recommend Blackwall Barn and Lodge to anyone celebrating a special occasion or you just want to have dinner after a hard day at work with friends or family.

   I can not for the life of me remember my waiter’s name. But he was amazing and he suggested a great mocktail. I will be returning again soon.

   Overall a good dining experience. Slightly crowded during Sunday brunch, so expect long lines at the various stations. We had a great server. Very attentive and engaging.

   I have now eaten there 5 times and it is alway wonderful. Excellent service--and managers always come around checking that everything is ok. I particularly love their greek salad and the chesapeake pasta.

   This was our first time at Blackwall Barn & Lodge. We were seated exactly at our reservation time, which started the evening correctly. Our server, Jimmy G., was personable, attentive without being intrusive, and extremely helpful. We started with the fried green tomatoes appetizer that was topped with chili peppers; it was quite flavorable and enjoyable. My entree was one of the night's pasta specials, the Bucatini topped with lump crabmeat in a spicy Bolognese sauce. The dish was very tasty. My wife's entree was the chicken and linguine in a cream sauce dish. She enjoyed her entree as well. The portions of all the dishes were substantial. We enjoyed the food, the value, and the service. As neither of us are fans of Country & Western music, the ambience of the locale was not our cup of tea. However, I greatly appreciate the establishment's pricing policy; it provides a discount for cash transactions. Thus, instead of trying to recapture transaction fees as a separate charge, as some restaurants have begun to do, a practice that causes me not to dine at those establishments, Blackwell Barn & Lodge has developed an innovative way of addressing its transaction fees. Overall, we enjoyed our evening and our meal. We will be returning especially since Blackwell Barn & Lodge's kitchen remains open until 10:30 p.m. on most evenings. Thus, it provides us with a viable choice for good food and drinks, at a later time, in a non-bar setting.

   We had a great experience on Sunday! Our server was excellent! He knew the menu, had recommendations for food and drinks (based on our tastes). This was our first visit and won’t be the last!

    The time it takes for the food was longer than expected. My order was not delivered correctly. When I also questioned the other item on the plate - the manager mentioned that if it was on the ticket it was done made correct... but the side item was correct on the ticket and was delivered incorrectly. No concept of the words coming out of his mouth. At least, the food was good - which it was corrected.
