Our busy buzzy French Bistro with all year round outdoor seating and its striking 19th Century French wine posters and eccentric Vineyard Sculpture combines a warm ambience and cheerful yet professional service with traditional French dishes plus a great-value list of 350 wines by the bottle and more than two dozen by the glass. It has been noted by City AM as “the best French Bistro in London”. The Bistro has a 60 seat Terrace, highly popular throughout the summer for its a Seafood dishes and its chilled Rose. Conveniently situated midway between the City and the West End, it is but a 3 minute stroll from Farringdon Station from where it is a single stop to Kings Cross St Pancras and the Eurostar terminal, and via the majestic new Elizabeth Line, a single stop from Liverpool Street Station, and onward to Canary Wharf. It is also just a five minute walk from Chancery Lane Station.

This has been my favourite restaurant since it opened forty years ago and was the first I returned to at the end of the Covid lockdowns.

A lunchtime visit to an old pre covid favourite. Not sure what’s happened to the full service basement restaurant at the Ely Place end, but the bistro was packed and full of customers including myself enjoying the food and ambience

This restaurant is a firm favourite with me and i was so excited to visit again after many years. The food did not disappoint, everything from bread to crab to rabbit to lobster was superb. The service was not uk to its usual standard unfortunately, we had 3 different people serving us and i had to chase for butter, wine, water and the bill several times. Wouldn’t put me off coming back but it should be stronger in this location.

Very good salmon tartar, sea bass and chicken with bernaise sauce. Pomme frites were too oily and roasted potatoes were stale. Very overpriced.
