A few short steps from the British Museum, The Blue Door Bistro provides a welcoming and informal bistro-style setting. Light and airy at lunchtime, warm and cosy by evening, the room is decorated on three sides with a panoramic view of London circa 1849. Together with the rich mahogany panelled walls, effective use of mirrored glass, and contemporary wrought iron wall lights, an ambience rooted in the hotel’s location is beautifully achieved. Executive chef, Martin Halls, blends seasonal ingredients and herbs from our garden with classical techniques to create seasonal British menus. Our cuisine is commended with an AA rosette and accredited by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (2 stars). In all of our products, we only use free-range eggs and are committed to sustainable fisheries for our fish supplies. Our team are trained to ensure that your specific dietary requirements are catered for at all times.

This January, join us at the Winter Lodge for a unique pop-up dining experience featuring traditional Swiss cheese fondue. This special event celebrates timeless flavours using ingredients that are perfect for sharing. Discover the distinct and delicious tastes of Swiss cheeses like Gruyère and Vacherin as you follow the tradition of dipping crusty bread and new potatoes into the melting pot. Each two-hour session is designed for a cosy, memorable gathering. Please note that drinks are not included in this package. Went for my birthday dinner with friends. Very traditional old English hotel which I loved. Limited menu but the food was very nice. We enjoyed it. We weren't rushed to leave the table. I'll be back

Lovely Thanksgiving Dinner at a quiet, delightful London restaurant with a friendly, welcoming and hospitable staff. The ONLY thing that could have been better would have been if we had been seated at a round table. Seated at a long table, it was not really confusing to inclusive conversation.

A pleasant late lunch with friends, we chose this restaurant as it seemed to be a relaxing quiet environment in lovely surroundings which it certainly lived up to We were hoping to book the fixed price lunch menu but this seemed very difficult through the one table app so ended up with the a la carte which was fine, generally enjoyed by all

Lovely meal in the enclosed patio, perfect for London’s weather. Cozy and quiet, our shrimp stroganoff and fish and chips were very tasty and generous. We will be back.

Fabulous meal at the Blue Door Bistro where we celebrated Fathers Day with our family. Food was excellent, particularly Mrs Ts signature dishes, the service was great and the surroundings just made the meal. If you’re lucky enough to have a table in the conservatory, it’s so peaceful, you wouldn’t believe you’re in London,
