How can you not have Italian bread at an Italian restaurant!!! No bread was offered at all. When I complained about my penne alla vodka not being good (dry pasta with chunky watery sauce with no flavor) I asked for Italian bread and was told they didn’t have any but she could bring me rolls. I couldn’t believe it. Service was great, nice place, good wine but food was not very good at all. I just can’t get past an Italian restaurant with no Italian bread!

Bocaccinis is my go-to for Beans-n-Greens when I am in upstate NY. The ratio of greens to sausage to beans is spot-on and I have very much enjoyed this dish in past visits to this restaurant. Unfortunately we experienced a big misstep while dining there last evening. We arrived early for our reservation - the hostess assure me that she would text me when our table was ready. We were forgotten, even though we sat right in front of her while waiting. Once seated, we noticed a coffee ring on the table and debris on one of the chairs - it just wasn't clean. We ordered drinks and an appetizer which came out pretty quickly. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. At the 45 minute mark, our waitress circled by to tell us that the kitchen had new staff, they were running behind and that our entrees would be right out. After an hour and 15 minutes (it was now 9 pm), we decided to leave without food and went to the hostess station to pay for our drinks and appetizer. At that precise moment we noticed a server heading to our abandoned table with the entrees that we had ordered. The manager was summoned and she graciously offered to send us home with the entrees, on the house. She also insisted that we not pay for the drinks and appetizer that we had consumed. Of course we tipped our waitress anyway, but it was 9:30 pm before we were home, and finally eating our dinner. The saddest part of this unfortunate adventure is that the Beans-n-Greens, the favorite dish that had caused us to go to Bocaccini's in the first place, was not at all the dish of old. It was so filled with garlic that it was inedible. The Veal with lobster filling in the lemon thyme alfredo was absolutely delicious however - the cutlet was properly cooked as was the pasta beneath it, and the sauce was perfect for the dish. I will chalk this experience up to staff inexperience and give them a second chance, perhaps on a week day evening and hope that my beloved B-n-G will be better.

A busy Saturday night added time to our stay. Service was attentive while server appeared very, very busy. Suggested chianti was perfect for the meal. Jameson on ice was a class presentation. Started with chef's choice Arancini that was delicious if only warm, rather than hot. Entrees were rib eye with ribbon pasta, and fusilli aioli. Steak was again, alas, warm-ish, not hot. Nonetheless, the dish tasted good. Fusilli with chicken was hot and delicious. Server offered a comped dessert for the warm food. Carrot cake was very good. We certainly appreciated the thought. Will certainly return to try more of their inviting offerings.

MAIN PROBLEM WAS WITH WAITRESS WHO WAS SERVICING TOO MANY TABLES DELAYING OUR SERVICE AND CAUSING ERRORS. FOR INSTANCE: FOOD ARRIVED COLD WHICH MEANT IT WAS SITTING IN THE KITCHEN FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE BEING SERVED. ONE MEMBER OF OUR GROUP WAS A VEGETARIAN AND HAD SPECIFIC REQUESTS TO THE WAITRESS WHICH UNFORTUNATELY WERE IGNORED CAUSING HER TO RETURN WHAT WAS DELIVERED AND REQUESTING SOMETHING ELSE. ONE MEMBER OF OUR GROUP ASKED FOR RED PEPPER ... NOT ON THE TABLE ... AND THE WAITRESS FORGOT ABOUT IT AND ONLY DELIVERED IT AFTER A SECOND REQUEST AS THE MEMBER WAS FINISHING HIS MEAL. UPON COMPLETION OF MEAL WE ALL SAT THERE FOR 15-20 MINUTES UNTIL WAITRESS DELIVERED TAKE-HOME BOXES AND ANOTHER 10 MINUTES BEFORE SHE ASKED IF WE WANTED DESERT OR COFFEE.
