Go there. While it is a shame they have changed their decor to suit a more modern taste, thus losing a lot of the classic flair that characterized it, it is still one of the best places in the city for Indian food, and the service is usually very good.

Everything was great, but I was a bit put off by the automatic service charge. We were a party of two and automatically charged 20%. I am accustomed to 20% for parties of 6-8 or more but not for two. Bombay Club has always had great service and on those cases, I typical provide 25 to 30% tip. However, since 20% was automatic, and not allowing me to provide a tip percentage (say ranging between 15 & 30 percent) based on my experience, I chose to not provide a 25-30% tip. I think this is a missed opportunity for your waiter staff. David

Bombay has been one of our go-to places for lunch with a colleague who lives nearby, especially on Monday when a lot of restaurants do not serve lunch. Food and service have always been good, and this visit was no exception. One member of our party ordered the duck. It was quite good, but the amount of rice served with it was about four bites. For more than $30 that seemed a bit small. Fortunately, we did order some bread.

Traditional North Indian cuisine, done very well: one of the best lentil soups (they call it mulligataney soup) I have had. Will revisit.

It’s always a delight to dine at the Bombay Club. The food is excellent and the service is attentive without being intrusive. And to top it off, noise control is excellent which made it easy to hear my dining companions.

Our entire experience was excellent. The restaurant ambiance is welcoming. The decor is classically lovely with ample table space and comfortable seating. The decibel level encourages good conversation as well as enjoyment of the live piano accompaniment. The menu is diverse and every dish we had was delicious. The service was excellent and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful in the selection of our dishes. In sum, it was a memorable dinner and we look forward to our return.

We have been to this restaurant many times. The food is consistently good one of the quieter, restaurants around with real table cloths. Although they serve the food fast. There was absolutely no rush. They have European manners in that they don’t clear plates until everybody’s done. another example of how they don’t rush you.
