   Booked 2 weeks in advance for Valentine's Day, however, did some research and found mixed signs on whether the location was open or not; come to find out the restaurant was closed for remodel when I arrived. This review isn't a true review for the food, space, and more, but the fact it was closed without prior communication. You may get an indicator to enter through Trinity, and that the space in the back serves food, but Boto itself is not open. Despite this, Boto's website has no indication of a remodel and OpenTable itself still has the option to reserve a table. I wish there was better communication that Boto is actually closed, and not being taken up by a different company.

   The restaurant was a little hard to find, down a short passage way and up stairs to the restaurant. It was a little chilly inside, they ran out of red wine which was a little odd, and we were there fairly early so it was quiet. To start we had the Mandioca Frita (Yuca Fries) which were wonderful. Slightly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and the guava jam and aioli gave it an extra nice flavor; and we also had the Brazilian Cheese Bread Ball which were good. For dinner we had the Half Rotisserie Chicken with Turmeric Rice, carrots and okra which was very flavorful, I literally cleaned my plate. The other dish was Braised Short Ribs which were cooked to perfection. Very tender and flavorful. We would definitely return.

   I would give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could! The food is expertly prepared, the service is outstanding, and the flavors are authentically Brazilian. My husband is usually a tough critic, but he enjoyed every dish we ordered. This has quickly become our favorite restaurant!

   I am really surprised how the other reviews are so great here. I ate with 5 friends and we agreed afterwards that this was one of the worst meals we'd had in SF in a long time. One main dish had a large hair mixed in, and the chicken I ate was incredibly dry. The "stews" were not much more than a pile of rice and vegetables with a bit of sauce on the side, and they were not that flavorful either. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is that the drinks were actually good.

   Wonderful restaurant experience! Food, service and attention to detail really made this stand out. My partner from Brazil loved it too, so I think that speaks for itself!

   You must mount difficult stairs to access the restaurant. The food was way over salted; the salad was uneatable due to the over salting. The entree was also oversalted and barely eatable. The operation appeared very amateurish.

    Really delicious food. Loved doing it family style. Portions were nice sized. Short but well-picked wine list. Excellent Caipirinhas. However, the food came out all at once, in spite of our asking to slow it down, crowding the table and not allowing us to have salads before entrees. But they’ve only been open for 3 weeks I’m sure they will figure it out.
