This was our first visit for my husband’s birthday. Everything was perfect: atmospheres, drinks, food, and our server, Joey, was perfect. She was appropriately attentive, gave us time to sort through the excellent options, and provided updates as needed. We’re looking forward to many return visits in the future.

Paul’s service was excellent. The wine was fine but the food was very disappointing except for the bread which was very good, I could not eat the chicken liver pate. Too “livery”. The portion size for the cassoulet was more like an appetizer than a main dish. We compare our experience at Brasserie to a February experience at Campagne in Seattle. I ordered the same thing for almost the same price and was much more pleased with the Campagne’s offering. I have been to Campagne many times and had been to Brasserie many times before though not recently. So very disappointed.

The ambience resembled to what I remember visiting Paris. The bib salad needed more dressing. Steak Frites were fantastic and the meringue dessert was delightful. Surprisingly, given how crowded it was, I was able to converse with my colleague normally. The food is what you would expect from a typical bistro. Highly recommended.

We made a reservation many days ago for 4 people. Upon check in at a check-in desk (boasting 3 hosts), we mentioned it was our first time here (for all 4 of us) and we were excited to experience. Rather than a table in the partially-empty dining room, we were seated instead in the adjacent bar where there are only maybe 4 tables, they put us at a table next to the bar, in this small dark unexceptional room that did not remotely reflect the same ambiance as the dining room. We (very very) politely asked to move to the dining room where we had just walked thru and saw at least 7 empty tables near the middle and rear of the dining room for 4. But instead of one of those tables, they put us immediately adjacent to the front door, the closest table to the hostess stand where we were repeatedly blasted by cold air on this 30-degree morning every time someone came in or out, and jostled by every patron who came in or out of the place. We could literally reach out an arm and touch (if we had wanted to) a guitar player on one side of us, a service station on another side, and a cute but often-crying baby on a 3rd side of us. The din of the dining room on the 4th side insured that we couldn’t even have a conversation at our intimate table of four. A shame, since those other 7 or so tables would have had better acoustics since they were up against the walls. I don’t understand the philosophy of assigning the worst tables first. Clearly a thumb-nose for daring to ask for a different table. Eggs Benedict was ice cold. The only saving grace was a great waitress. Other food was tasty and hot, but unremarkable. We chalked it up to “whatever” and still enjoyed ourselves and being out together in this adventure, and did not complain then nor afterward. But you asked. Funny ending that, while we were eating, we heard at least 2 other parties ask for different seating assignment when they also got relegated to the dark tiny bar or to the same bustling traffic path/area where we were.
