Bricco’s star has been rising steadily since restaurateur Frank DePasquale revamped the menu to feature modern interpretations of regional Italian dishes.

Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.

The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.

Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with appetizer selections.

Was able to get a last minute reservation and glad we did! Had the special of short rib raviolis, and would get again. Tables are definitely close together, but to be expected. Definitely would come back!

Amazing service on busy Valentine's Day! Our server paced our orders perfectly. Excellent cocktails. Lovely Caesar salad and shrimp scampi for starters. Our server checked on us often and bus staff were on top of clearing at just the right time. Tables are very small and crowd easily! Barely any elbow room. ( Our only nit pick) Delicious boar ragu over parpadelle and a likewise veal/ braised beef stuffed pasta were al dente and beautifully presented. Huge wine list. We split a pistachio semifreddo- we were stuffed and happy!

Food was mediocre. Shrimp overcooked, red sauce so-so, tiramisu tasted like burnt expresso. And very pricey for average food.

Was good tasing food and service was good, but very over priced and small portions. Only got 3 meatballs for $20, 2 zucchini flowers for $20, and main meal was the braised short rib ravioli which only included 4 of them for $32. Food tasted good but their portions were very small and over priced, ended up getting more food elsewhere after dining.

Food and service was outstanding, but we were seated at a table next to the bar and couldn’t even hear ourselves talk. Noise level was through the roof. Kind of ruined our experience.

I ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter brought a different bottle - more expensive, of course, without telling me any reason why. Surprisingly, the waiter also confusingly upsold the daily special risotto dish then immediately stated that he would not recommend it saying, “it wasn’t worth the time.” The food was OK, a fellow diner’s steak was over cooked, but everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. In general the service was slow, we had to prompt the waiter several times - first to order drinks then, food, and so on.

Got together with some women I hadn’t seen in years. The food was delicious! Everyone loved their meal. The service was excellent, attentive but not in your face. I know many of the restaurants in NE have a 90 min table policy but even on a Saturday late afternoon we were allowed to stay almost 2 hours and eat and drink and catch up it was a lovely afternoon. I would definitely go back. Just disappointed that I did not try the signature espresso martini. Next time …
