   This reservation was for Christmas Dinner. A 4 course meal Offered for 75gp. Apps were just ok, lacked flavor and texture. Main course all a disappointment, zero flavor in pork stew and turkey leg confit also had no flavor, sole was also barely tasteful. Desserts were so so, Apple pie was nothing like pie, barely sweet apple compote with what seemed to be coconut topping. All around odd menu especially given the price. Wine and service were great!

   I was really looking forward to our Christmas dinner. I came hungry just thinking about the rib eye steak. Service was good but the timing between entrees took a while. Understandably it’s Christmas Day so the restaurant could’ve been short staffed. Back to the rib eye. The table next to us ordered rib eyes as well. When it was delivered to their table it looked amazing. Nice thick cut of meat perfectly cooked. Now I was salivating for my entree to be served. Also, the rib eye was an extra £10 charge on top of their set Christmas menu price. So I’m expecting a decent piece of steak. When my steak got delivered, it was visually disappointing. The steak was literally half the thickness of the table next to us. It was paper thin. I noticed the patrons noticed my steak and said something in French. Probably saying they got lucky with their cuts. Plus there wasn’t a really good sear on steak because it was so thin. There’s not a lot of businesses open on Christmas Day and I was famished by the time we had dinner so I finished it. We waited for our entrees so long that I didn’t want to send it back. Plus we came near the end of service around 4pm so I know staff wanted to clean up and head home. Maybe they ran out of the proper rib eye? I don’t know. It wasn’t how I envisioned the meal especially after seeing the table next to us get their amazing rib eyes. Now I’m sitting in my hotel still hungry thinking of what should have been.

   The restaurant is a really nice atmosphere and the food tastes good. However we were disappointed with the portion sizes of meat you get with the roast. Also, the service wasn’t the quickest and very jumbled which made our dinner experience quite interrupted and poor.

   It took over an hour and a half to be served our mains. There for a business meeting had to ask for service the entire time. Without doing that we weren’t offered to order or pay. Food was ok but not worth it for the experience.

   The food was lovely and the staff was friendly. However the music was too loud. I know someone who had been previously and said the music was soft jazz and more background noise. However this wasn’t that. The girl had a lovely voice, but for a 3pm lunch it was just a bit much. Was unfortunate as took my partner for his birthday and we couldn’t even really chat to each other so quite disappointed. Excellent roast though

   The staff and service are always good at Brix and this visit was no different. Tis is my first roast in a while there were no complaints apart from the "burnt" cauliflower cheese...not sure if this was on purpose but I would amend the menu if it is. Cocktail were great as usual. Highly recommended and ill be back soon

   We had to wait an hour for our food, had to remind staff for our drinks. We had the Sunday roast, the potatoes and broccoli was hardly cooked. The live music was way too loud and others in the restaurant complained of the same too

   We booked at Brix to celebrate Thanksgiving with their Thanksgiving set menu (£65 per head). While the venue seems like a lovely place to meet up after work for drinks and dinner, it is not the place to book for your Thanksgiving celebration. The music is too loud for this type of holiday meal and the quality of food is significantly overpriced. The Thanksgiving set menu was simply what you might find on a gastropub menu in autumn. Again, seems like a lovely place to meet after work. But Do Not book for Thanksgiving!
