   If you have sensitivity to noise or light, go somewhere else. The fire alarm went off roughly 12 times during the hour I was there. No staff or management offered an explanation or even an acknowledgment. There was a bright white light from the fire alarm that continued blinking throughout the entire dinner. At the end of the meal, I asked to speak to a manager because this seemed pretty ridiculous for a high end restaurant. The manager couldn’t have been more cold and dismissive, saying there’s nothing she could do and that they’re working with the fire department. No apology, no empathy for our awful dining experience. Also, the person who was sitting at the table next to me said the same thing happened a month prior when he dined there, so this clearly wasn’t a one time thing.

   Food was overly plentiful, fresh and very tasteful. Wine list was pedestrian and somewhat overpriced. Service was solicitous and accomodating.

   We had an excellent dinner at Butera’s of Bay shore which has never disappointed us. Their dishes are consistent and very generous served with a bread basket of the freshest bread and garlic knots! The staff is friendly which makes the ambiance delightful. Note a prix fixe dinner Monday through Thursday is a bonus don’t miss it!!

   Last minute date night. I am in the hospitality business, work down Main Street in Islip. My happy, delicious go to place is Butera’s in Bay Shore. Food spot on (always) front desk, bartendar Chris thank you for my pumpkin martini ….. looking forward to the new winter cocktails starting this weekend! Tara was our server, we love her.    Always a huge fan but tonight’s dinner was pretty bad. I had a plate of sauce, chicken parm and the chicken was grilled. Penne instead of rigatoni. Everything was smothered in a thick paste of sauce. My daughter’s meatballs were uncooked and pure mush. The meal could not be eaten. They were pink.

    This was by far one of the worst dinners we’ve had at Buteras . The lasagna was like glue the meatballs were not cooked they were pale with a gooey texture. The sauce tasted awful . The server never came to see how the meal was and we didn’t eat any of it ! We just got a check and left . We will not be returning ; they have gone downhill with their food . Very disappointing basically threw our money away !
