Chef Troy Bijeaux wants to welcome everyone to Cafe Josephine. We have many spectacular dishes, but our signature dishes are both our steaks and oysters. They can be seen getting prepared and cooked at our oyster bar. Its a great time to speak with Chef and others around you.

First and foremost our waitress was very nice and despite a large group that she was also tending to managed to take care of us. We found the food very good. Tried several appetizers which were very good then main course was excellent. All had seafood platters. Appetizers were stuffed mushrooms which were excellent, crab/crawfish nachos, and also had the charbroiled oysters. Very good experience.

This is the second time we visit Cafe Josephine. First time being about 14 years ago. The service was horrible then and still is. This visit on 1/11/25 was our anniversary dinner. We made reservations a week in advance for a table for 2 at 7pm. We got there before 7pm, checked in, and the greeter said we're just waiting on a table. Why would we have to wait on a table if we had reservations? A table should've been blocked off. As we were waiting, two other couples came in after us and got seated. Went back up to the desk and questioned why they were seated before us when we had reservations. We were told it was because they wanted a booth. We were never given an option of a table or booth! Finally, 30 minutes later we were seated (7:30pm). Ordered charbroiled oysters, which were delicious. Also ordered the cap ribeye (med rare) and a filet (med). Cap ribeye was extremely tough! Filet was over-cooked. Sent the cap ribeye back and ordered a filet cooked med rare in its place. Waitress came and said there was a large table that came in right before the steak was sent back and it was taking longer than expected. That should not matter at all. If a steak, cap ribeye at that (which is supposed to be the best there is), was sent back and another steak ordered, that should be top priority. Waited 30 minutes before receiving the filet, meanwhile the waitress peeking around the corner, which we could clearly see, and trying her best to avoid us. Got up and went find the waitress and told her that if the filet was not cooked then to just forget about it. Got the filet right after that (it's now 9:30pm), only to be disappointed again. Filet was tough as well. Everything we mentioned to the front staff at check in to the waitress, there was an excuse given. For a restaurant that wants to charge top dollar and act high class, they need to get it together. Definitely not worth the $260 spent. Should've gone to Ruffino's or Mr. Lester's. Lesson learned!

Food was excellent but they ran out of the special by 6:00. Only one person at the table got their first choice.

The food was really good. About what you’d expect from this type of restaurant. Our waiter “Shawn” was attentive but not over bearing. We started with char broiled oysters and they were really tasty. Followed by the 14 ounce prime rib eye that was perfection in every way and worth every penny. Seemed much bigger than 14 oz also. We also sampled a grilled seafood platter and found it to be good; the fish was a little dry for my taste and the gumbo was bland (shrimp and crabmeat just dropped in gumbo) but the rest of the platter was awesome. Overall, great atmosphere and enjoyable.

The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The seafood platter had a lot of food and was delicious as well. The fried ribeye was cooked so tender and again tasted delicious. Service was great. Can’t wait to go back.

Party of 6 was seated quickly even tho it was New Year’s Eve. Our waiter Joseph great! Never an empty glass! Crawfish dip came w/hot cracklins that were still popping! Oysters were perfect. Everyone’s food was delicious except the ribs weren’t tender. Not worth complaining about because everything else was amazing!

Food was very great. Only complaint was that one member of our group ordered a steak and it came out very overdone. But this can happen at any restaurant. The staff were great about replacing the steak and very apologetic. Overall a wonderful experience!
