   We have been pleased at Portofino in the past, but this visit was very mediocre. The fish special was high priced and overcooked. When we mentioned that it was overcooked, the remedy offered was “more sauce”. The shrimp cocktail sauce was like ketchup, and I never got a response when I asked about horseradish to add. The ambiance can’t be beat, and service was fine, if a little slow.

   I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and it was delicious. Nathaniel was my server and was super attentive and a pleasure to meet. I ordered a side of pasta and Caesar Salad, both were delicious. I’ll definitely return.

   What a great Italian night! The cute bay that this boots in creates an enticing atmosphere. The drinks were great, the food was delicious and no one tried to rush us out. We liked it so much we booked it again for tonight.

    Café Portofino does not disappoint… it’s one of our favorites. The fresh, delicious food, service and ambience coupled with gentle Kauai breezes keep us coming back. It feels like home.
