Callie represents Chef Travis Swikard's debut solo project after spending a decade working alongside the esteemed Chef Daniel Boulud in New York City. The restaurant’s name, "Callie," comes from the Greek word "kallos," meaning "the most beautiful," and embodies its blend of Mediterranean cuisine with local ingredients and terroir, from sea to land from San Diego, Swikard's hometown. In 2022, Callie was acclaimed as one of America's top new restaurants by Esquire and Robb Report, and received both a Bib Gourmand and a Plate from the Michelin Guide. Callie is a dedicated supporter of Feeding San Diego, having contributed over 1 million meals to those in need in San Diego since its launch. Swikard is set to open his second restaurant in La Jolla in 2025.

    Our parking garage is located in the building, but because of the one way streets downtown, the entrance is on 11th Avenue between J St and Island Ave, on the right. The parking garage has a sign '1155 Parking' over top and is through LAZ. For security purposes, the gate will be down when you pull up, you will press the kiosk for a ticket. Once you've parked, take the elevators in the center up to the lobby and be sure to get your ticket validated by a host. Validation is good up to three hours.

    Mediterranean Feast - Parties of 7 & 8 For the ultimate dining experience, choose The Mediterranean Feast, a 5-course, family-style menu priced at $75 per guest. This menu, curated by Chef Travis Swikard, provides a full culinary journey from spreads to dessert. While the Feast is required for parties of 7 or 8, it is also available to all guests without advance notice. When booking, please let us know of any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate them. To secure your reservation, a credit card is needed, but no charge will apply unless you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or do not show up. In those cases, a $10 per guest fee will be charged to the credit card on file.

    Eigene Meinung - Die interessante Idee der levantisch / mediterranen Fusionküche konnte ich gut folgen. Die geschmackliche Umsetzung ist gelungen. Die Getränkeauswahl ist bei den Cocktails solide bis gut. Bei den Weinen qualitativ gut nur. Es fehlt hier allerdings das Wiederaufgreifen der Ideen der Speisen. Das östliche Mittelmeer bietet so hervorragende spannende Weine. Der Service war freundlich, doch wie fast immer in den USA zu schnell. Die Preisgestaltung ist nicht nachvollziehbar. Am Ende kommen mit 4% Service 20% automatischem Tipp und der Steuer nochmal einiges ohne zutun auf den Preis.

    We ordered 3 dishes. The halibut was excellent presentation and good flavor. The lamb was high quality and tasty but on the salty side. The fettuccini was very salty. I told the server his answer was it has pork sausage and duck. Not sure what he meant. He also ask if we want him to take it away. The serving was small and we just started on it. 20% service was add in the bill. The place was loud. It was not a fine dining but fine dining price tags

    This is a gorgeous restaurant with excellent service & a delicious menu. We were very happy with everything we ordered & saw many things pass by that looked interesting. Our server we very personable & full of good suggestions. Flavor, texture, & freshness were abound. I think we are a tough audience & we will return to try the remainder of the menu for sure!l

    We had really been wanting to try this place. Let me start with the fact that the service was TOP NOTCH. Everyone was incredibly attentive, constantly. The ambience was nice. It is a big open space so it is a bit loud, but still nice. We started with the uni toast - delicious. Then we had the evening’s special Caeser salad - delicious. For our mains we had the lamb chops - very good, and the Aleppo chicken - good. The Aleppo chicken had good flavor, but I could not get past the really fatty skin (which had all the flavor), so for me personally, that was a bummer. Our cocktails and wine were also very good, and there was always someone there to bring us a new one as needed. Overall I would say 4.5/5, with the chicken being the only slight disappointment - having said that i will for sure go back and just order a different entree.

    We celebrated my wife’s birthday. Every aspect of the dinner was spot one! The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the wines and entrees. Thank you for a great night!

    It’s always a great time at Callie! You truly can’t go wrong coming here. The vibe, the food, and the experience are consistently top-notch. Chef Travis is the best!
