Camino was born with the opening of King’s Cross in 2007. Capturing the real essence of Spain was always the aim, and with the addition of Bar Rioja opening opposite ( this was previously Bar Pepito, London’s very first sherry bar) we came a King’s Cross institution.

Our lively bar and restaurant sprawls around a hidden courtyard, coming alive in the Summer, full of people enjoying a frosted mug of Spanish cerveza, a glass of sangria or a Rioja Glass from Bar Rioja. With outdoor heaters and plenty of seating, it’s often busy on even the coldest of evenings.

We’re open everyday for lunch, dinner and everything in between. Join us for our Spanish breakfast during the week, or our popular Happy Hour at the weekend. The bar at Camino is always buzzing, with DJs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays playing the best Latin, house and party sounds until late. Always free entry!

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Camino King's Cross offers a vibrant tapas experience with "absolutely love Camino" food, attentive service, and a delightful outdoor seating area perfect for summer days. While some find portions small, the "fantastic quality and value" of dishes, especially the "wonderful Albariño wine," keep diners returning. Ideal for "special occasions and treats," it promises a "mini Spanish holiday" right in the heart of London.

Food was excellent but size of the dishes varied considerably. some were really good portions easily shared and some, the more expensive dishes, were small and really only fed 1. for example , I ordered a chicken mojo @ £12.50 and it was literally one small chicken thigh. in sauce, however, the chorizo charcuterie which was around £9 was a huge plate of cured meat and well worth the money. overall we had a good experience, although the table we had was small considering it had to hold several plates at once. food quality was superb and would eat here again.

AVOID, AVOID AVOID We arrived at our reserved table, tried to order at 20.15 and were told that the kitchen was too busy to take orders! What's the point of going to a restaurant if you can't order food? This was supposed to be a Christmas celebration - what a waste of an evening, this place deserves to fail.

Totally packed out as large tables of xmas parties etc.... so noise levels were high. Staff were working really hard to keep everything moving and customers happy - Lucia our waitress was amazing - big smile on her face with a can-do attitude.

Table we were given was crammed into a space unsuitable for a table for two. When I asked hostess to be moved I was told all other tables taken. This was not ultimately the case. Menu was limited and food average. No salt or pepper on table. Waiting staff were very attentive and could not fault them.

Food and service was great. Only downside is they turned up the music so loud, you’re shouting to be heard. It’s a restaurant so I feel you don’t need it that loud!

Felt like walking into the Tardis - insalubrious exterior, but once inside, it was spacious, warm, light filled, with well executed food (had a Spaniard in our party) and lovely service. Given we went at last minute on a busy Xmas party Friday, it really was well above expectations!
