   Because of the advertising emails I have received, I was excited to try "Casa Isola" once again. I visited this establishment when it first opened; the food left something to be desired, except for polenta with mushrooms, which I found to be outstanding. During that visit the "Sunday Gravy" was horrible. We returned this week for the special: $14 Pasta Tuesdays. Disappointing again. The servings were small and very salty. The people in our party who ordered the Bolognese were happy. I ordered the Amatriciana, spicy. I asked if they used guanciale or not and they said yes. The guanciale was extremely salty, and I could not eat it. It did not taste fresh. I am fortunate to spend several months a year in Italy and especially enjoy the Roman cuisine. The food at Casa Isola tasted like something from an inferior Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. We did not order wine because we thought the price to be ridiculously high. I hardly ever give a bad review, but I just have to report the truth! They need to send the chef to Italy for a few months, maybe then, we could see an improvement in the overall taste of the food. The wait staff was extremely professional and accommodating. We sat outside, a mistake for me as the exhaust fumes from the cars on Sunset Harbour Drive were suffocating. I really wish this restaurant will learn from this review. Its a great place to meet, improve on the food please.

   One of our go to’s! Low key place with great food. They used to have traditionally Italian food but now the new chef adds Asian spin to some of the dishes. Highly recommend the meatballs for appetizers and the popular spicy vodka rigatoni. I just discovered pasta nights on Tuesdays!

   This is a fun little Italian spot with great outdoor tables. The wine selection is good as well. The only thing Casa Isola lacks is something healthful on the menu. Even the chicken dishes are breaded and fried. A few healthy options will make sure that all guests have something they like on the menu.

   The place was so chic and adorable. The hostess was so kind and welcoming and the food was excellent! Unfortunately, the waiter was horrible and charged us for a more expensive pasta dish than the one ordered and when questioned he refused to do anything about it.
