   Food is excellent as always. The mushroom risotto is flavorful, clam chowder is more on the delicate side which we liked, and calamari is crispy and juicy.

   Service was attentive, yet not super knowledgeable on the wine list. Food was hit or miss, the artichoke beignets were deep fried like arancini balls and all you can taste was the fry. The Burrata and tomato was standard fare. The halibut was remarkable and the highlight of the night. I would go again but I’m in no hurry.

   I recently had the pleasure of dining at Central Park Bistro for a birthday celebration, and it was an all around great experience. The restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate our large group, making sure every detail was taken care of. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the perfect tone for a relaxed yet elegant evening. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we were all comfortable and well taken care of throughout the night. As for the food, everything was absolutely delicious. Each dish was showcased with fresh ingredients and rich flavors. Whether it was the appetizers, main courses, or desserts, everything impressed. Overall, Central Park Bistro provided the ideal setting for a celebration. The service, food, and atmosphere made it a memorable evening for all of us. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to host a special event or just enjoy a delightful meal.

   We had a 9:00 pm reservation on a Saturday night. At 9:35 pm, we were told that we would need to leave the restaurant by 9:45 pm so they could close up for the night. We should have been told when we entered the restaurant that we only had 45 minutes for dinner, so we could have decided whether to stay.

   A wonderful destination for dinner in downtown San Mateo. Food and service are excellent. The staff are warm and friendly. A favorite to keep going back to.

   Very strange experience. Explicitly told the maitre d'hotel and waiter that one of us (two people) had a corn allergy--both assured us they could work around it. Menu choice of the scallops on risotto doesn't mention corn. When the non-allergy diner popped up with corn kernels, we called the waiter over--and they were horrified. But--that's still quite the moment. Then, at dessert, we ordered two desserts--discussed that the crust of the key lime pie-and asked if the crust had any corn meal in it, or used corn syrup sweeteners--and they said no. And then--two deserts appeared on the table--but no key lime pie; instead--beignets and bread pudding. So: food is good! Service is chaotic. And they are NOT listening to you. Careful if you have food allergies. Be really careful.

   Our dining experience at Central Park Bistro was very lovely. The food and it presentation were great. We really enjoyed the ambiance, and our waiters name was Oz, and he recommended my wine which was very nice, and helped me choose between 2 entrees, and I loved his choice. Can not wait to go back.     We had two exceptionally original entrees which were beautifully presented. The vegetable accompaniment was perfect as was the key lime pie dessert.
