The Charcoal Steak House is an independent local steakhouse serving the Waterloo region community for over 65 years. Enjoy AAA Steaks, richly marbled wagyu, slow roasted prime rib, fresh seafood, mouth-watering pig tails, legendary smoked ribs and more. At lunch we feature an extensive menu with burgers, sandwiches, bowls and healthy salad choices.

Sundays are made for Brunch from 9:00am - 1:00pm.

Our Martinis Bar with summer patio offers the full Steak House menu or light meals in a more casual setting. Enjoy appetizers, a full meal, 20 beers on tap and beautiful outdoor seating area in summer.

We notified charcoal that we were celebrating a 40th anniversary and nothing was mentioned at the restaurant. Eggs Benedict were very lacking in hollindaise sauce. Was a very unimpressive experience overall

The food was excellent although the vegetables could have been cooked more, surprised they no longer serve fresh bread, the atmosphere was very good.

Martinis is always great, but today Our server Caitlin was terrific. Friendly and helpful with a great attitude. Small error in my order was immediately corrected and replaced, then removed from my bill at the end. The Charcoal group know how to treat their guests , it’s the reason I keep going back, both for personal dining and with customers.

Our server, Angela, was very welcoming, attentive and offered a great service. Our appetizer of beef bites and roasted brussel sprouts had few beef bites but a lot of oversalted brussel sprouts. The steak frites was good.

The food was amazing, each person who we met, from the hostess to our server was friendly, served us with smiles. We loved the space, it was warm and welcoming. Thanks Charcoal for an amazing experience!!

I had my 55th birthday celebration at charcoal steak house , our servers were amazing , everything was fantastic the only thing that was a little strange was my rib eye steak was super salty , I was unable to eat it
